    Hi everyone,

Hope I posted in the proper section. I'm trying to make my first beat video for posting on youtube and was wondering if you could please suggest some easy video making software for first time users that could create the kind of effect shown in this video below. Some kind of software that matches the beat with the picture movement or shows a moving equalizer bar or spectrum wave that matches the audio used in the video. Hopefully it's not too difficult to master as I'm clueless when it comes to visual editing software.

Any kind of suggestion or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for the help and best regards!

In majority of cases this is done with Adobe - After Effects (hate to say it.. but is a kind of monopoly).

Basically you have layers, let's say one for background, second for your object and the third for your sound file. Then you "extract" keyframes from your audio - points that represent how loud is it at certain point in time, an audio amplitude "graph". When you have those you can control anything with the audio amplitude "value".

In the video you posted, the audio amplitude (mainly the loud beats) control the scale and the chromatic aberration (see how red, green and blue shift..) of the Mickey.

    Things to consider:
    - it is a very simple procedure for someone that has basic to mediocre experience with video editing and programs like After Effects, but the software itself can be a bit daunting at first, because it does this and so much more..
    - it's easier to find a "template", where you just change the graphics and audio files (search Videohive site for "audio react")
    - the video you posted (I bet) uses plugins from Red Giant software (Sound keys, Universe, Trapcode..), though everything in it can be done with After Effects only.

Look at this video and try to replicate it with your own elements:

..and ask anything, of course. Good luck

THANK YOU Matt777!!! Much appreciated!! This is extremely helpful!!! Hope you won't mind me asking but does Adobe Premiere Pro have similar features as After Effects? I recently saw several posts on AudioZ and thought about trying it out.

Thanks again for the advice. Have a great weekend!

You can try Blender, a free 3D-compositor-video editing software.
In Blender you can also take an audio file and assign it to change things, lets say like abstract art. There are lots of sites where you can download free 3D models.
You can do some changes with keyframes over time, so there would be some variation that makes the video a little more interesting than a pumping to the music "Mikey".

@korniceman3000, sorry, quite busy end of week here ;). The answer is.. yes and no. While After Effects and Premiere do share some features, they are intended for completing different tasks.

When you have footage of your beautiful gf ;) and want to put clips in a sequence with some color correction, retro filters and sync it to an audio track you would use Premiere. When there is a clip of your annoying neighbor's car in the footage and want to blow it up, you send that one to After Effects and treat it properly. The two prgs infact integrate.

For what you were describing, you only need After Effects, as you are "producing" footage. The "pumping" logo or a spectrum takes no time to make. The real power of AE though are it's plugins like Red Giant (Particular, Form,..), Video Copilot stuff, Plexus...

Don't have much experience with Blender.. impressive how it does everything from modeling to video editing. For free(!)

Keep in mind it helps to have a powerful machine to play with all this. About aesthetics/artsy aspect. If you use and master what I suggested above, the sky (your imagination) is the limit. But sometimes less is more and if you look at labels like Selected, Monstercat.. well again, just take a photo of your gf, put on a hipster filter, write/design a logo and you're done..
