Hey @The Pirate , appreciate your patience in this thread helping others, (and in all the others you are involved in! )... Tried to PM you and was told I couldn't....

I have a question you might be able to answer right quick...(apologize for the long windedness of it!) I have Omni 2x (forget what version as not in front of one of work machines), and it was the R2R one from 2-3 years ago, and always had the problem with remembering saved presets etc... so honestly, I just kinda gave up on it, as I have so much other stuff, and generally kinda make patches from scratch etc.. and it seemed the problem never was quite fixed on OS X side, and there were problems with the official purchased version at first as well...

well, long preamble (sorry!) short, I think it might be worth a toss to try and upgrade to see if these things have been fixed, ... do I need to perform incremental upgrades from whatever version I was on in terms of sound sources , patches, software etc, or am I good jumping forward to 2.61 or whatnot?

I remember with V1, there was an incremental path to implement, ... and I have Trillian etc as well, and my STEAM folder aliased/sym linked on an external... don't wanna bonk it, so will temp backup the steam folder before, and my system drive, but do i need to go through 3-4 years of released updates or am I fine just going with latest?

 

You don't even need a previous installation. The last update for software,soundsources, and patches will suffice. By the way, the latest one is not 2.6.1. It is 2.6.2c. The same goes for all Spectrasonics products.
