    Guys

Can anyone help a newbie with this?

When i load up Serum in my DAW (Logic) i always have to put a serial number in and it automatically opens up the xfer website when im scrolling through presets.

is there a fix for this or have a missed a step during install or something?

Cheers for any advice or help

    JB

Is it the crack version? If not I cannot help, maybe try the latest version of Logic and Serum.
    Crack? Use the latest

I wonder, why does it to this, I've read about this in many comments - is it a bad crack, or a faulty serial number, or does the legit version also act like this? This synth is a bit like u he stuff, constantly people seem to have problems with it.

Hey bro, I decided to create an account on here just to be able to reply to you. On Mac, it seems like most of the cracks for Serum have never really worked. The issue seems like it has to do with the the Keygen. I use both Mac and Windows and never had issues cracking Serum on Windows, on Mac though, I never was able to get it to work because of the issue you mentioned, I eventually gave up. Recently though, I tried getting it to work one last time, I clicked on generate key a couple times, crossed my fingers, and I ended up generating a real license. I no longer have the annoying issue on Mac. Of course, I saved that key and it's the key I use now both on Windows and Mac. Essentially, I treat it almost as if I actually bought Serum. Since the key I generated seems like it's genuine I no longer need the "cracked" installers either. In terms of installers/updates, what I do is create a Splice account and do a "trial" rent to own just so I can get the official Serum and Serum FX installers and right after I've downloaded the installers I cancel the trial so I don't get charged after the trial is over.

was this with a later version of Serum? I have been using the old one (initially done by HEXWARS? or R2R) as it has proven to be the most stable, as I DO save presets etc, and would rather have an older one without the new additions (and available preset packs), and make my own sounds and able to save them then just using presets and not being able to recall any changes...

Yeah I'm using the latest version of Serum and Serum FX. I tried using the older version as well, but the thing is I have a couple preset packs that needed a newer version of Serum so that didn't work.

I honestly think that there was something more to just getting lucky with the key I generated though. The reason I say that is because when I generated my working key I had the trial of rent to own through Splice because I was seriously considering just buying Serum to get it to work on Mac.

I plan on doing some testing to try and recreate what I did to get my working key but here's exactly what I did:

    1. I completely uninstalled the Splice app that manages the rent to own shit without uninstalling Serum and Serum FX itself.

    2. I then installed a supposed "cracked" version of Serum over the Serum install that Splice did without performing a clean install. Keep in mind that the "cracked" version of Serum was older than the version Splice had installed.

    3. I went to launch Serum in Ableton and it requested a key and it said something along the lines of if I completed the rent to own program my key should have been emailed to me. I also want to add that at this stage I checked the version number Serum was displaying and it was still showing as if it was the latest version Splice had installed even though I installed that older "cracked" version over it.

    4. Realizing I had fucked up in that I didn't perform a clean install of the older "cracked" version of Serum to get rid of the Splice install I said fuck it I'm just going to give it a try and see if a generated key works

    5. I ended up with a genuine key. I later confirmed this by doing a clean install of non cracked version of Serum and Serum FX and used the key to active Serum.

I might have done some bootstrapping shit on accident I don't know honestly.
