But Buddy...havent you checked the folder for virusses? I've just checkt the rutracker version with my AVAST antivirus and it immediately gave me a warning that the file "Auto-Tune Pro V9.1 [NO ILOK ACTIVATOR].msi" has the Trojan "Miner-AA-Trj" and even when I execute it (yes I'm crazy! ) my Windows prohibits the execution of it and says "Windows Defender saved you system from infection"...So what the hell did you do when installing it...on my machine its not even possible if I try it knowing it has a virus!

OK, so now we know the rutracker version has a virus in file "Auto-Tune Pro V9.1 [NO ILOK ACTIVATOR].msi" and the archive I downloaded has a file (not msi but exe) called "Auto-Tune Pro V9.1 [NO ILOK ACTIVATOR].exe" with a different CRC checksum and without any warning from my Antivirus and not even from virustotal.com....I think I will try it! So wish me luck!

 

BTW the rutracker version is missing this in the instructions.txt

In my book:

The recently shared .msi variant is really bad.. though some top AVs don't detect it. @Daskeladden and others - if you installed it, check your system throughout..
The old .exe variant doesn't show any malicious signs (e.g. on VT), but they both behave like BC miners..

Anyhow, I have high doubts they'll do what they're supposed to do..;)

Tough luck @Daskeladden .

It really is so far past the point where we all stop telling ourselves that it's OK for a crack to set virus checkers off. It's OK if comes from famous cracking group? It's just a matter of time before something really bad happens across the scene. Clean cracks ought to be a standard.

 

I installed the version from april 2019 (so not the 100% infected rutracker version) and I cant see any behaviour that let me think there's a miner working. But nevertheless I still havent got it work. Maybe tomorrow I will try again...Due to security reasons I didnt follow the steps accurately.

 

I started that exe but did not install it. Avira or Windows Defender did not say anything. When did you get the message that there is a virus?
Luckily I did not install it, but can I still have that virus just from starting that exe?

 

I did scan the Rutcracker release and defender found a virus/maleware. I think I forgot to take action, and was sure it was a false positive since it also was released on sister site. Never had any viruses from Rutcracker before today. That being said I'm not especially worried since I have a recent clone and an image of my system.
I think I got rid of the virus but my offline scan in Defender is still defect. That could be due to the restore point recovery. Sometimes restore point will damage something.

@Daskeladden sad to read this happened to you, after all the help you offered to me and others to get the System running. Chances are you already thought of this, because you know more about Computers than i do, but just in case, I would Check your Services, if there's any Option changed now, that Blocks your defender or security Stuff... MAybe due to the previous infection. Had this a few times, so maybe worth tryin.. nonetheless, I wish you the Best luck to get your system clean again Mate

 

@Daskeladden (you probably know it) ..but anyone in the same situation - after you go to a restore point and something doesn't work like supposed I had always good results with this procedure:

-run command prompt as admin
-type:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
it will take some time, and then
sfc /scannow

You have to be online for this. It finds corrupted files and replaces them.. here is the whole thing:

You will be better served by a USB boot tools like

From there you can create a complete System Image with something like Acronis True Image or Macrium Reflec


And also can better deal with virus infection and any type of problem, lots of tools there.

why i should torture myself with AV when i had 1 times a virus in life..makes no sense at all.

but , i mean the release imply s heavy , its not a normal one...
bet there alot of nexus3000 virus bundles out there too...but these places where you get this are such niche place you only come there rarely when trusted sites not have it
