Basically started a new riff, def not 4/4 at the end of 4 measures it's missing an 8th note for proper repeat. So out of a 4 measure riff to be done right an eigth note has to be taken out. I'd think I'm dealing with 2 time signatures put together before even half way through the riff its the same, and the down note of the repeat is 1 eigth note. Is it 7/8 time im trying to write? All I know is I'm going into 32nd notes on drums to even get them close.

Or is my tempo off or should I have time/double time the notes and it'd make more sense. It's just a riff that came to my head and even trying to make it 4/4 with an extra note kills the riff.

Riff is 150 not even closely related to 109 so playing a 150bpm riff and 109 drums mathmatically isn't feasible. That still doesn't change the missing eigth note on the riff everytime picture may help. As you can see the riff is complete before the end of the measure combined since the guitar is midi so...

For piano roll purposes, No Avenger's 109 bpm in 4/4 makes perfect sense...unless you again riffwise change things up, which would necessitate lots of cutting and pasting to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

I would say 3/4. With some swing feeling

Ill try to write it at 110 [i follow the rule of 5 correct tempo's are 0 2.5 5 7.5 or 10 but I'll see if rewriting the riff to that tempo may help. thanks.

That is correct. Now that I know the original tempo I can calculate it and it's of course not 109bpm, it's 109,09090909...bpm. :winker:
You don't believe me? Try it, you already have the exported wav.

"Ask the Drummer"-This is simple 4/4- "common"- time. The guitar is playing triplets, except the 1st and last notes of the one measure riff.:drummer::drummer: If you have Melodyne it will lay all that out for you on a display. I would put the count on the comment strip but it's a private post.

Actually its been figured out, the riff isn't 4/4 it's 7/8 time So it's not 109 or whatver joke.. But nope trying to 4/4 this in a different tempo changed the riff I want completely and ruins the flow. It's just a 7/8 tool style riff. Could have done without the sass, especially with wrong answers but thanks anyway.
