i dont think its shit at all, the problem with it is that everyone copy other tracks, psy do have a formula just as mainstream trance, the triplets and offbeat bass is the core of psy,if ur gonna produce dont copy just be more creative. Since april i have had contracts for 10 tracks all psy and i didnt copy others work.

pretty much it. I remember listening to lots of stuff like Astrix, Infected Mushroom and others back around 2003-2006. Few years later, the formula changed alot for the worse mostly, especielly due to the copy-paste thing as you mentioned.

That's because people misunderstand what a "reference track" is

PsyTrance became shit when it left being music to be played at Goa raves. See it this way: Goa at its roots was counterculture. PsyTrance evolved into mainstream in the late 90s. That was the mistake.

I've only listened properly PsyTrance once in a beach rave. I loved it!

Then again, at that moment I loved everything and everyone... yeah, perhaps I loved the PsyPills more...

Besides that it is a matter of taste, one loves crap music the other prefers ambient etc...
It is about to find the music you love (or hate if you prefer that), you decide what you prefer and like to hear and alter you emotions
