i still can't understand this part he said

"i want to be happy, but when i'm in it, i try to get out of it"

can anyone explain why? why someone would not like to stay happy?

    its a part of life.

you need the bitter taste you be able to taste the sweet.

    or so they keep saying!

edit: ok so i watched some of the interview for some context, and they guy talks about how he sees depression and how he deals with it. one of the things he did was making the album.

on the specific of beeing happy/sad, as i understand him, he mentions prime emotions as the opposites sad/happy, and how he used to "use" either end of the spectrum as a escape.

Like wanting to stay in the emotionelstae of ; "wanting to be happy at all times" or "wanting to feel depressd/sad all the time" - escaping every OTHER emotion outside of those 2.

and now, he has find ways to "just beeing present in the moment" and "whatever emotionelstate" that he is in, and not try to escape that. accepting himself of who he is. inside.

    :P
