anyone noticed kick and bass is much more detailed when you have a hoodie covering your ears before the headphones?

Ultrasone Pro 900. At first it sounds quite V-shaped but after a running-in period I find it excellent and the best headphone I've found under 400€ to mix electronic music with deep and precise basses..

I think the best thing you could do is get yourself a SubPac S2 to exactly feel the subs and kicks in your music. I use it with My Sennheiser HD800's and HDV820 Amp (The better your Headphone will be the flatter the sound is, and thus less Fysical "feel") Everytime i listen i am being blown away with the basses and kicks with SubPac S2 in all types of music. The downside of Subpac is that you need an audible frequency too!!!!, to link it at the Vibrations felt. So if there are no audible frequencies you will have vibrations but you cant link it to any source in your music. If you have it like me down to 14 Hertz at -3db, you will get that powerfull feel too down to 5Hertz Flat! Even you only feel it then. So Best for Kicks and Basses!!!! Its like being in the club! But if your system only produce lets say about down to 50Hertz you will have Vibrations with Subpac, but they will be very Annoying as it can not be related to the Musical instruments or subs, thats why there are lots of haters of Subpac too.

Hi, please use Airwindows "Monitoring Plugin" (Free) so you will get actual Crossfeed (Cans- A- Or B) on your Headphones like an Actual Room so Stereo image decisions can be properly made. My Stereo Image with Monitoring on Headphones (Sennheiser HD800's) is excactly as my room using Cans-B. And in general its a great plugin for Monitoring on Headphones, try "Peaksonly" in Monitoring and it will help you hear True peaks in Headphones and will force you to fix them as they would originally not be audible as they dissapear too fast unlike in a room as the energy stays a bit longer to become audible. And your translation will be same for Speakers. I mainly Produce best in Night's so have to think About my Neighbors too. Cheers.

Those are my 4" bookshelf speakers and I don't want you blowing up my shit!

 

You Are Right as the better Headphones are more flat sounding and Thus less "Feel" to the sound. If you get A SubPac S2 you will Feel those frequencies fully again like speakers and even way and way more!. But you will need the Audible frequency too in order to work properly. Many people tend to forget that there is an Audible Frequency (Which is Boring on a Sennheiser HD800'S like i have) and there is an fysical Frequency which gives you that "Feel" Which a Club For example would give you with having Multiple Subs to move enough air to become Fysical........ A SubPac S2 can provide you that Feel............Cheers

Hi, Yea Buy a SubPac S2! It will give you all the Low frequency information with full Fysical Impact if you have a System which can Produce the Audible frequencies. If you dont have an Audible Frequency, the vibration you will feel with SubPac is worthless and Annoying as your Brain cant link it to the Musical Instrument or subs in your Audio......... Cheers

yea i own it, along with my Sennheiser HD800'S and HDV820 Amp the Subpac Rocks!!! A good Headphone cant give you That "Feel" in my Opinion.
But Also in My treated Room The lows and subs are way more easy to follow and much fuller, Body, and Feel! I Have a Full Range Genelec System and i cant mix proper bass without the SubPac S2. But be warned, if you cant hear the Frequency you only will feel annoying Vibrations!
