I alllready edited the host file on my pc to prevent acessing presonus sites, but i need to do the same thing with my ipad.

    Buy legit Studio One 4

    or

Either you set firewall on your iOS and Android devices or set the firewall to block PreSonus at your router.

    or

disable internet on your devices, but leave the wifi turn on every time u try to sync Studio One Remote to Studio One 4

    or

disable internet on your router everytime u try to sync Studio One Remote to Studio One 4.

You already got the answer from me, no need to create a new thread. You block the same hosts as you did for SO4 in your router settings. Or you can unplug your internet and use the wifi network without internet connection, will work the same. We can't help you anymore because routers are different. Look at what you have and read the manual.

My router is ZTE ZXHN H108N, i tried everything. but couldn't figure it out. I find there some URL filter option and i added presonus.com, but there is still connetion to the site, it's driving me crazy.

just install firewall apps on your devices is much easier... for android just use DNS66 apps, you can get it from F Droid app. so much easier.. just leave your router alone before you could do more damage.

For iOS, I don't know what apps u guys can get for the firewall. But there is a way always, google harder. Jailbreak if it is necessary.

U need to understand, the problem is your devices, iOS and Android are connected to the internet. If you not blocking Studio One Remote from calling home, there is no other way.

I tried this, which is for an older iOS, so, the settings I found were in 'screen time' for iOS 12. Then there is a content and privacy restrictions thing that I enabled. It made it so I couldn't go to any site except the ones in the "safe" list, but, this didn't work for Studio One Remote unfortunately. It did seem very promising, but I couldn't make it work

If you have a Hackintosh with dualboot, you should be able to use your router's settings. Just block the relevant host from there.

I realize it can be done in the router settings. I need to be able to access the site every once in a while for hardware firmware updates. I was hoping for a solution that doesn't require blocking the site through the router. Just trying to save someone else the time of trying it with the iPad settings.

What site? registration.presonus.com? That's the only one you need, and there's no website server running there so if you open it in a browser, you just get an error ("refused to connect")

Block this Sites in your router under Internet Filter and Blacklist: registration.presonus.com, updates.presonus.com, api.presonus.com.

Yes, because I have legit software/hardware that needs to be downloaded every once in a while. I have these sites blocked with HandsOff on my Mac and that works perfectly. I have to disable the rules to download, say, a firmware update for the studiolive series III. That's no big deal on the machine, as all I have to do is hit disable rules for the duration on the update/download.
Also, I have AT&T fiber, with their router, and it does not allow blocking sites, only IP addresses. I did try the IP addresses listed in this thread, but, that didn't work.
That's why being able to block it using the iPad would've been great.
I did think about making an Ad-Hoc network with my Mac just to run S1 remote, I just haven't had the time to test that yet.

There might be a local VPN app providing firewall functionality on iOS (not sure if Apple even allows such apps) but the most straightforward way is certainly by using ad-hoc WiFi. Nothing is easier than that on a Mac. Wireless > "Create Network". Done.
