PA plugins were already worth fuck all in the resale market. PA themselves made sure of it long before the subscription service was even conceived. It's the combination of the $30 sales - which sets the value of what people think they should have to pay for these plugs - and their absurd $20 license transfer fee. The mental math is really really simple, and it's no coincidence most people on KVR sell their PA plugs for around $10 apiece because the transfer fees make people reluctant to pay much of anything for them.

Shit, recently I bought a voucher code from the presonus promotion for bx_opto, spl attacker and, maag EQ2. Paid $10 for it and it wasn't second hand. Their MSRP for that is probably close to $500. The distance between what the market says it's worth and what PA says it's worth is so wide it beggars belief.

I think the more infrequent $30 sales will actually increase the resale value though. The subscription service isn't going to change the fact that half the people who use plugins would rather own them than lease them. If people can't keep getting PA plugins for $30 - and believe me, almost nobody is going to pay full price - people selling them second hand will have more leverage to ask a better price.

Yeh, been trying the demo out, its not a pretty synth that's for sure, it generally sounds like someone using a band saw on a curling stone, although the limited FM oscillators can be coaxed to a more rounded tone, but no discount for owning all the other Unfiltered plugins. :dont: Cheapest I can pick it up for is £100 with my monthly voucher and the intro offer, think I'll give it miss though and stick one of many other synths through BYOME. That incidentally cost me £24

With winter coming up I guess we all know where you'll be spending time...half the time making music and the other half pushing rocks and sweeping.

That’s weird. I don’t know how they’re deciding who gets what discount. Mine is $99 (without monthly voucher) and I only have dent2, spec ops, fault, and I think one other unfiltered plug-in.

@Lois Lane Aye that's likely now I can get back in the rink, once the dammed tourists go home.

@Cav Emp Wow, you must get a bigger discount voucher, Maybe you have more Brainworks or other PA than me as I have all unfiltered and 9 others, all of which I paid less than £30, this deal seems to suck to me, but that's PA for you.

Just counted. I have about nineteen total - that's excluding the free ones, and counting dent, indent, dent 2 and indent 2 as one plugin though, as I got indent free and the others just popped up in my account when I upgraded to dent 2 with a voucher. I've gotten several of these second hand and probably not paid more than $30-50 for anything so... :dunno:

Only unfiltered ones I have are Dent/Indent 2, Fault and Spec Ops. I have a bunch that would have been pricey if I'd bought them at full price. Maybe that has something to do with it. Black Box, both vertigo plugs, MetricAB, townhouse comp, nseq2, the maag EQs

edit - i guess the vertigo ones aren't that expensive anymore actually, by PA standards. that's interesting. they're actually the best ones IMO

    11 unfiltered
    2 Maag EQs
    6 BX
    1 Metric AB
    no freebees included

offer $129, add tax $25.80, minus monthly voucher $25, total cost $124.80 convert to £ = £100 approx

sucks..... still birthday next month, if I cant persuade the wife to buy me a Mother32 (unlikely), and Zebra 3 hasn't yet made an appearance (even more unlikely) it might be an option.

Edit : BTW really enjoying your tunes...

What could 3 have to make it better then 2? can already make any sound or sequence, unless they pull a MassiveX maneuver in which case it may as well be called Vanilla Ice... Sorry off topic

Fact is you can do it all with stock daw plugins, though its nice to have some diiferent plugins for a different approach.
Their subscription model is useless for people who already own many plugins, nothing new really, i seriously doubt they make more money now, so we shall see more and more special deals again, since people still want to own not rent their tools.

I bought it at 49$ with discount and my 50$ voucher... From them, i really enjoyed Oberhausen and Thorn so i trusted them BEFORE testing it. Big mistake on my part. My bad... Mea maxima culpa.

I'd read some things on kvr about people having stability problems.

You should go over there and look through the lion thread in the instruments forum (skip to the last few pages). PA's update schedule is stupid because they put everything out at once like UAD does, but less frequently. But I'm pretty sure I saw the Unfiltered Audio dev - username "thelizard" - talking about releasing fixes as beta since they are coming in before the PA update cycle.

I might be thinking about Byome but I'm pretty sure it was Lion too.

I thought about this synth for like five minutes but I have too many already. I've been uninstalling paid plugins left and right lately. I'm easily distracted and I just hate visually scanning a long list of plugins to decide what I want to use

Price for some new graphics, a synth I don't no how to use and a slot in my plugins list..... err £29 weekly pocket money thanks..

Cav is right you'll get all the beta builds at KVR under their respective Forum entry's, for LION in Instruments, BYOME and TRIAD in Effects not sure about a LION beta, but there are some really good betas for BYOME and TRIAD. thelizard is Michael Hetrick, Unfiltered's co founder. Look for his posts. PA's update schedule is way behind these betas....

@KungPaoFist Zebra2 is practically perfect, but I think Urs has learnt a few tricks in the intervening years...
