I know it all seems like business as usual because there's always something negative in the news about the government but if you really look at it closely this is unprecedented. Before Hitler came to power Germany was a very free society and they even had gay rights. People think that change there was implemented swiftly and illegally but nothing could be further from the truth. In reality everything was done gradually and by the book with Hitler being elected into office by the German public and soon after the government began phasing in new laws and taxes...soon after that they convinced the populace that throwing people in ovens would solve the world's problems. In my estimation once the government threatens a free press tyranny is right around the corner. There are many events that are connecting together to paint a truly frightening picture...The Patriot Act, NDAA, TPP, etc. Did you know that 1/4th of the worlds prisoners are in the United States? This is very troubling news indeed.

 

Yep...this PLUS the IRS target auditing scandal AND the mishandling of the Benghazi incident and possible cover-up makes me oh so confident of my government!

 

Funny you bring it up because I was debating tacking those little nuggets onto this post. Good that you stay informed.

These things always trickle downhill... Obama sets the culture and the cronies do his bidding... after all, they are expendable.

Yeah, I don't normally talk politics on these forums (and believe me I could)as we are here to talk music and be free of the day to day crap that frustrates us so much. But you guys are spot on here, the blatant arrogant actions of the current administration is nothing like I have ever seen. I will leave it at that and I don't want to start an argument.

The last political argument on a music forum I got into was shortly after 9/11 (World Trade Center/Pentagon) when I was told by some dude that it was "no big deal" and to "forgive and forget"...that thread was locked soon after!
