Updating Legit Permanent License PT After Subscription Expires (Mac)?

    I have a legit permanent license install of PT 12.8.1 on my Mac. Unfortunately, the one-year freebie subscription ran out two years ago. While it still runs fine on Sierra, I'm thinking of upgrading to a newer OS. I also recently got my hands on a more (not most) recent update installer of PT. My question is: can you update PT once your subscription runs out? I'm sure you can actually run the installer on it, but will it let you actually run the updated software? Would you have to block the Application Manager from connecting to Avid first? Or would it even let you open the software at all?

    if it is a MAJOR update .... (Big update 2018.1 ---> 2019 .... etc)
    Your licenses will no longer be valid !!!!!
