    Finally really giving Ableton a chance.
    After starting with Reason 2.0, Through Fruity Loops, (Idc what yall say.Its Fruity Loops lol)
    To Cubase, Sonar, Pro Tools, and everything in between ending at Logic 15 years later.
    I've decided to try to tame that Oh-so intimidating beast they call Ableton.

    Guys got any good tips?
    I normally just read the manual but this things rocking a 800 pager and I want to get cracking soon.

    I understand the concept of Ableton just not sure how to Trigger Scenes or ..really anything lol

    Any advice would be helpful.
    I have downloaded CV and energy max or something like that but those are just as intimidating haha.

    Help Your Stoney Little Homie!

    ( my objective at the end of this is to be able to Add more life to my structures of songs, more easily create breaks and patterns)

    I've been using Live a couple years but I only use the arrangement view to make stuff.

    from my experience it Seems like their are different "camps" in how people use abelton mainly.

    using session view (only)
    or
    using arranger view (only)

    both has its strenght and weakness, so I would sudgest you try out both ways, and find what works best for YOU and your flow

    Try to keep things simple in the beginning for yourself. its super easyer to go deep and complex in different ways. (i still never use maxforlive after all these years)

    personal experienced, Was using reason since v1, till v4. then dabbled around with protools/logic/cubase for some time. really hated abelton for YEARS. because of session view and the GUI/flatness. keept using Cubase5 instead. gave up cubase since 32bit was no longer a option. after spending about 4-5years with Live, its remenince of using Reason in speed/lessClicks when creating.

    added some PDF i came across recently, it might comein handy

    LOTS of shortcuts btw,
    holding combionation of shift/alt/ctrl buttons while hovering over different options, gives you even more options/details (ex. velocity in midi notes, or change numbersettings in smaller incriments.

    for me once I went ableton, I never went back. I just felt the efficiency everywhere.

    Super easy to learn as well. I use mainly arrangement view but when mixing I look at the session view cuz of the metering...

    Also if you are a hotkey junkey this is the daw to use, supports amazing hotkeys to switch between and group things its all there for you...

    Ableton is not a DAW :guru: Live is the DAW. If you say ableton it would be as saying i use Apple, Steinberg and Presonus for making music.
    just saying :guru:

    well, as a non-pro person-perspective, I've started with Madtracker2 for 6 years. then, while doing so, I started with FL until it became my default for now (due to its piano roll's simplicity mostly...).
    nowadays I'm looking forward to try studio 1 or reaper maybe.
    anyway, try that stuff for your own. check out its features, its pros and cons and the way you like to use it for doing your music
