    The rap vocals are defo the best part in this song and really good. I like 'em.

    They could sit better in the mix though. Due to the low sn and claps the whole song looses a bit emphasis and punch.

    lol yeah. My tendency is actually to turn the drums up way too loud. Sometimes I compensate by turning them down from what I think would be an appropriate level. Guess I went too far. Appreciate your honesty, and your ear.


    Also thanks everyone for listening, and for the kind words. I'd respond to you all individually but that seems a bit self indulgent lol. Know that I appreciate it. Not always easy to get people to listen to a song when they don't know if it'll be any good, but you guys are very generous with your time :)

    There's a pretty easy way to get this balance better. Just turn down the volume until the song is hardly audible anymore. Neither the snare nor vocs should vanish.

    amazing track. Your vocals ... Man, I love it! Awesome. Would like to team up with you for a track, really! :mates:

    Soundwise ... I needs more bass ... just kidding :rofl:!

    But on small speakers ... it really sounds thin ... so perhaps a bit saturation on the bass (808s or what these are). Additionally all other elements (snare ... claps .. rest) needs to be more hearable (small and big speakers). They sink a little bit in the mix. Mix is not really balanced.

    Thanks man. I'm way behind on a few projects with a friend at the moment. If you want to stay in touch though, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing if we can make something work once I've caught up on some things I need to finish up :)

    True, it kind of sounds shitty on small speakers. I struggled a lot with the room reverb too. Had a really hard time striking a balance between how it sounds on monitors/high quality headphones vs laptop/phone speakers. Almost inaudible on good speakers (which is what I wanted), but way too prominent on laptop speakers.

    I'm still learning :)
    I do a few things quite well and other things sometimes get flubbed in service of other details I was focused on.
