To start with, I might wanna add that I have never tried Serum before, so it's quite new to me. I just downloaded the demo a couple of days ago, and I've found it really easy to use and I kind of get the sounds I want very fast.

Problem is I don't really have time to build an entire library of presets on my own, and seek inspiration. Here comes the tricky part - I don't like edm and dubstep. I know... weird to appreciate Serum when 99% of the sounds made for it is tailored towards exactly those genres. Anyway.

Where do I get myself either a) a small collection of more traditional sounding synth presets or b) a massive collection of all kind of mixed stuff I can sort through? I don't want to download loops, sounds and project files or any other junk. Just presets.

SERUM PRESETS and Tables
Name your favorites and what genre they best suit.

I genuinely ask you guys this, I just bought serum and everything I've downloaded so far has been very Dubstep, Hardcore trance stuff.
Like my Kicks to thumb no Click ya dig :P

Goth rock, Suburban, Rap, Hip Hop, Chillstep, analogy.. almost opposite compared to what i've downloaded haha.

The Echo Sound Works banks are pretty decent. I especially like the organic sounding presets.

 

Standalone music - 8oom if you want some good 808s

 

For you Echo sound works will work. Avoid Cymatics, W.A. and all such ultra popular ones. A google search will be a better idea.

 

OP my advise is test out all the presets you can as they should be a base of sound design. Keep in mind that you can morph any preset to your liking and also combine presets as of the lastest release giving you infinite possibilities. You can also lock fx now so there's even more possibilities.

PS limiting exposure will only limit your production. Exposing yourself to more and new sounds will increase your inspiration.
