Cytomic The Glue gets my vote. Klanghelm MJUC is good for injecting some "mojo" as well. Cheers

I would keep the very best I have and kick all the others out - period!..... but it doesn´t makes a lot of sense, or? :dunno::no:

Keep the few you can rely on because you have good experiences with them and.... keep it simple!

I find curious that until like 2 years ago "The Glue" was considered by most people the best at least for several important tasks, like mastering.
And lately I barely hear about it.

Jokes aside ("is it because it was cracked?" comes to my mind the first) it really hits my curiosity.

Voxengo's Marquis 2 compressor. Super under rated. Very low on CPU, very easy to get what you want, great sounding distortion, different compression modes.

Talk to people on here who make music that's similar to yours and find out what they use, and more importantly, *why they use it. I love the Klanghelm and Waves is always quality, but whatever compressor(s) you land on, learn it inside and out, and then start playing the field, testing out others. Fabfilter's Pro C2 is a good compressors to learn on with it's very friendly interface, but all compressors are essentially the same, so pick what helps your music, not what's hot on the block.
Also, as a long-time FL user who switched to Studio One some years back, Maximus is highly overrated in my less-than-humble opinion; and you can't really go wrong with Cubase (and that's coming from an Studio One user. )

It still is the best compression plugin imo, it's just that it's been around long enough to not have to talk about it so much...

I haven't heard of a better compressor plugin coming out after it...

    Keyword "plugin"...

What do you mean by "best compressor"? Best compressor for what? What makes it special?

I downloaded it for a trial phase when he came out. I wasn't impressed.
It's just another bus compressor without any noteworthy features. Not a bad compressor, but it's nothing special.
Nothing that couldn't be done in a few seconds with, for example, a Solera, ReaComp, Pro-C or DC8C, too.

wow dude no need to get pissed lmaoooo it’s just a thread about favourite compressors lol.

I just think to my ears compared to other compressors it has the cleanest processing with simple fundamental options. For me, it truly has a high end sounding algorithm hard to find in other compressor plugins...

Well, it was replying me that even without knowing much I talked about "considered best for most people for certain things". Of course there's a lot of compressors totally different.
Man, today sometimes I can't tell what is a dynamic-intelligent-eq or some multiband-advanced-compressor. In fact several are both.
