No wonder it's free. It's programmed in shitty Java. The GUI lags badly. Bloatware that kills your CPU and makes sounds no better than any freeware VST out there. I feel sorry for downloading it and installing it. I wanted to try it for a long time, that's why I registered [you have to!] and downloaded it. Then I saw it being more than 200MB, which raised suspicion. Then I checked the install directory and saw Java modules. OMFG! Steer away from this. Not much value even for free. It's like farting in the wind...

No, i have also VCV Rack and i can say Voltage Modular is much faster than VCV Rack or Softube Modular.
My MacBook Pro (i7 256gb SSD) speeds up the Cooling system after only 5 Min. and with only a small setup. Same goes for Softube Modular. Voltage Modular is the Only software that works in an aceptable CPU Usage !

VCV Rack, Softube Modular and Voltage Modular.
Who got the best analog sounds?
Who is more fun to use?

VCV Rack is free, is evolving very fast and maybe it will surpass the other two in all areas.

Vcv rack is the pick of the bunch at the moment, its versions of the mutable instruments digital modules sound identical to the hardware, none of these software modulars sound particularly convincing when it comes to emulating analog , cherry modular being the weakest of the bunch.

The only software one that comes genuinely close to convincing analog emulation is the pulsar modular 900, that sounds really close, especially the filters

I might sign up for this in case i decide to use it but as much as i love bazille and how it sounds, i only use it when I'm feeling adventurous. Patch cables on a plugin interface are kind of annoying. I don't know why it's worse than regular drag and drop (visual obstruction aside, since you can usually hide them or toggle transparency) but it really is IMHO.

I also just dont like the way this and softube modular are monetized. Not saying there's anything sinister about it but this whole thing with selling modules piecemeal reminds me too much of the gaming industry. Ill pass on DLC modules i think

Yes, this is similar but different. In games in almost all examples dlc makes company who makes game. In Softube Modular or Voltage Modular DLC Modules are maded by third party company like PSP, Vult, Intellijel, Buchla, Doepfer etc.

Be aware. Some of those presets will require over $1000 in add ons. Shiiit. I bought a Deepmind 12 in excellent shape for $200.

The Pulsar Modular 900 sounds good, but right now is OSX only.

Now I want a hybrid system with analog oscillators/filters and the rest with VCV Rack. :)
