Meh i find elektron a bit overrated. Especially the price, if you buy it new.

Sequencer is retarded, takes time to learn it e.g. multiple shortcuts watch videos, invest time(which i barely have for making music) but after having a AR for a good few months I doubt it was worth the hassle. Makes me wonder why i didnt just buy a 707 and a 606 instead.

digitakt has a less steap learning curve, but lacks features for the retail price and all in is not that great, though good sequencer for external gear. But randomization in a pattern really doesnt bother me at all. I rather keep it controlled.

elektron gear is not for everybody. And I find it overpriced too so I only bought a second-hand Digitakt.
Fast sampling, slicing, tweaking and building a groove in one box is a fun experience though, at least for me.
I see it as a simple sampling drum box with a few creative and powerful tricks you won't even find on a classic MPC.
And like you said, MIDI sequencing and P-locks even for external MIDI gear is a strong plus.

Nah, rather bad builds if i'm honest. They seem sturdy and robust, but internally there are a lot of problems which elektron can't explain, dig up some threads on elektronauts.com for example have browse through the new Analog Rytm Mk II. People have loads of complaints about the hardware.

And secondly, the steap price is due to the fact that it's all handmade in Sweden, which obviously costs a lot more money as opposed to manufacturing it in China.

I had the digitakt, sold it. Does not sample real time, slicing is non existent, you could make a sample chain (e.g. play with the start and end parameters of sample) but that's not really slicing, and I would call it far from intuitive. After my experience with it I call it rather a one shot machine, it's perfectly fine as drum machine for example.

MIDI sequencer was good, that was a huge plus of the machine, and I think the people who keep this machine have loads of other gear as well. You can not solely rely on the Digitakt itself, cause again, it's limited, especially for the retail price.
Still I know you will buy one, and I hope you have a nice time with it and it does fit your workflow. But don't believe the hype is what I learned from it all, like they present these machines on any platform as a one stop beat maker which does everything, especially on elektronauts.com where posts get monitored in favor of their reputation.
