Hi is there any vst like Akai S3000XL or any S series? I found Akaizer, TAL-Sampler, Poise, Emu-X Emulator and VZ8 by Akai but can't download, is no longer availible. Maybe you know some more vst's or software?
    Cheers :)

I'm unsure why OSC's Poise is on the list, as, although it's a very capable drum/sample pad VST that I still use sometimes (and has a true Round-Robin feature, which Maschine *still doesn't have,) it doesn't affect the tone/timbre of sounds.
Have you tried the RX950 Classic AD/DA Convertor by Mathieu Damange? I think that it's a very nice, though not an indistinguishable, emulation of the S950 (for a debate on how accurate it is, there's a thread somewhere here on AudioSex,) and it's dirt cheap.

    Check it out here: https://www.inphonik.com/products/rx950-classic-ad-da-converter/

Love the RX950. I also love and have been using D16 Decimort religiously since it came out, v2 is great too.

Having owned a 3000xl since the 90's and having used software samplers since their inception i dont mind sharing my opinion on this matter. Firstly there is nothing particularly characterful about the sampling engine on the 3000 series , its 16bit and lacks any of the by now famous "warmth" of the earlier 12bit samplers. What does set it apart from many other samplers is the range of its digital filter which will self oscilate down to 30 cycles, used in conjunction with its internal default sine wave tone can produce some fantastic sub bass tones. Nothing in the world of software will recreate that fantastic waiting period of listening to the the thing click ,clunk and whirr whilst loading a single kick drum from a floppy disk, good times indeed. Theres also a weird workflow advantage of scrolling through a wave form with that big knob that for some strange reason takes to you to places a mouse doesnt. There arent many advantages to hardware samplers these days but the slower workflow does instill a kind of stoic discipline that requires you to be more patient and involved with anything you do sample and whilst you CAN do that in software ,in truth most people dont.
They also make for great drum machines, great midi implementation and timing, insanely cheap these days for what you get and look pretty sexy in the studio too.

    Both

Good to see some new one vst's, software or additional effects with this crispy and warmth like Akai, but i search for more good samplers like Poise, Tal-Sampler too :)

If You know some I will be grateful If You share. Nice to see every kind of this. Everything will be helpful.

    Cheers :winker:

I'm looking for something related as wel, though not specifically this feature was not only implemented on the akai series, but e-mu samplers as wel I believe.

The ability to do cross fade looping very easily. which I know the MPCs can do easily, where it's just on click. I have been missing such feature in software.

yeah but it gets odd when you try to map multisamples :)
It isnt even possible to automate the cutoff of multiple keyzones with one controller, each keyzone has its own amp / filter etc.
So if you just want to automate the Filter Envelope amount you are screwed :)

I am searching for decades now for the perfect sample for years now, i tried most except falcon since there is no demo, but i owned MachFive previously.

Kontakt is still the best for me even tho I dislike its GUI. I like the tabbed GUI concept of AIR Structure, unfortunately it seams the be no longer maintained (no update since 2015 ) and it is buggy and unreliable. But anyways it miss sample editing functions.

Tal sample is nice, but there are some things i didnt like, eg how the zoom works and that there is no sample editing .

The true magic of the older AKAI samplers were the converters. For that you need the hardware.

I am still on the hunt for a drum sampler, Battery is the closest, but the editing could be faster. When cutting sampls you have 2 separate zones, 1st the start point and then the edit section. So if you like to crop a sample you have first set the start / end point and then again the edit area , double work :/ Thats better in Maschine, but Maschine makes only sense with the hardware which i dont not like with its cheap early dieing potentiometers, yeh they are physical pots not real optical encoders

DirectWave has a similar workflow. Use the built in gain to get a very similar sound as the hardware.

This means the S3200XL are bad becouse XL have something locked? :(
    I thinking about buying one.

Is Akai S3200XL with Gotek Floppy USB Emulator, 8 Outs, eb16, 2nd filter with all options digital in out smpte scsi etc. for €500 be a good offer?
What is the difference between S3000XL and S3200XL?
