some important news:

Unfortunately the appearance of recent warez really hurt us hard. Using NOT the elicenser protection for VPS Avenger was a bold decision we made, listening to all those customers, who want to travel with their laptops, or dont want to plug a dongle permanently in general - but finally it turned out it was the wrong decision. Now we basically have to start from zero again. Its sad, that nowadays you are forced to do such protection measures, but unfortunately thats the world. I had a long talk with Rene and different solutions were on the table and I want to be completely honest here with you guys: One of them was, that version 1.5. becomes dongle protected and therefore NOT a free update. But since we already told you, that it will be free for our customers, we will stick to this promise - although the circumstances have changed. Version 1.5.X (+following bugfixes) will be the last bigger free update for Avenger with new content. It will contain the guitar module, a free XP, new analog filters, new skin, new factory library stuff and much much more. After this, I am sad to say, that it will be impossible for us to continue the way we did so far. We were happy, that we could spend the last 2 years mainly working on fun stuff, such as bringing you new features and sounds - but as the situation is now, much time is needed to maintain the copy protection. It will start with Avenger 2.0, which has to be a paid update (no price set yet) and will introduce (beside new features) the eLicenser dongle again, which was the only 100% secure mechanism for us yet: Our Dongle protected plugins were never cracked in any way. It will take quite a long time and effort to switch to the new protection system, so dont expect this update anytime soon. Furthermore each license key for the elicenser will cost money, so the update can't obviously be free. Updates after 2.0 will be free of charge again of course.

I know that some of you may not want to do the change to version 2.0 then, because they want no dongle, but unfortunately we have no other choice at the moment. They can of course still stick to their 1.5.x which will get bugfixes if necessary. There already have been more free updates and features for Avenger, than other products get in their entire lifetime. So no need to complain about sticking to 1.5.x. since its a fully fledged Avenger.

There was a similar situation with Nexus 1 > 2 if someone remembers.

Once it is 100% sure again (with v2.0), that only our customers who paid have acces to it, we will continue to make gifts in form of free sounds or new features. Looking forward to it!

I would strongly advise not to use any illegal XPs, especially not with your legit versions...

As some may have read, we planned to move our older plugins to a non-dongle protected system, but atm this plan is no longer valid obviously.

ps: only thing which could make us move away from the dongle plan would be, that 1.5.0 (which will get some copy protection fixes) will be secure and uncracked during the year of development for 2.0.

I totally understand that you're upset sir and you are totally mad about it. but there are people who wants to try it first. and sometimes 30 days are not enough. I am otn using avenger and haven't used it yet because it lags a lot. and I'm way too poor to afford it. and I mean no offense you guys make great product. but there are people who actually buy stuff from this same warez forum and there are so many legendary people this forum has. even I've seen that in a thread were they were talking that some stuff should be given out as a test to some of the forum members so they can give review and in the end product gets better.

I mean no offense in anyway possible. I am just saying you guys are damn good at it. but reducing price might be a good solution also. and again I would like to say that please don't be mad at us. I'm mentioning us because yes I do pirate stuff but I'm from a very small city where I can barely even get a mic. so you can clearly understand how poor I am. besides that I didn't want to mention it. but let's talk about this. you guys just trust me. that there will be more people who will buy your stuff because it got out to the same people so it is like free marketing of vengeance which is good sir because it is going to convert it into loyal buyers / potential customers I guess. you know better than me.

Well i understand you thoughts,but think about companies like Orchestral Tools,Spitfire,etc...They are so freaking bold,just imagine their hard work and they are still on NI Kontakt which is k'd so many times... And they still are alive! The point is you are maybe in loss at the moment,but i promisse most of people from here or there will eventualy buy Avenger if they use it and make money from it,that is in human nature,beauty of supporting you as a developer and other developers also!

Tbh XPs are too expensive no matter what,but AV is ok price,but still!

No one need dongles anymore,its is pain in the ass and eventualy dongle will be defeated again soon so all this is pontless! That is a wrong path! p.s. i have downloaded licences for Phanlax and other VPS products on my dongle for 2 or 3 freaking years and have not them activated to use them for 5 days ,i will simply not even buy them or use that demomwhat is the point..... What you can do with 5days demo!

LOL Please. Just an excuse to charge for the next Avenger. I'm sorry, but I tried it and never bothered with it after the first use. Was not impressed by the sounds, and found that you could actually do less with it then you could with far better synths like Serum and Thorn. This is a classic case of lets throw all this stuff in so it looks like its this massive synth, but in the end, when you part out the functions, you have limited creativity. Too boot, most of the expansions essentially sound the same and are small, for a stupid price. Sorry, but if this thing was cracked WAY back when, and I doubt cracking the use of these garbage expansions hurt them that much. If it crippled them, then FL Studios, Serum, Thorn, Dune, and the stuff people are actually using. Those companies would be belly up, because their products have been provided cracked for free for every one for eons. Hey, ever think maybe its just that nobody is using your garbage? or, maybe its just a ploy to scam buyers, and make them think its for something more then greed. You want to break the tradition of 99% of most DAW's or Synths, and charge for updates. Be man enough to say its to make more money, screw the consumer. Don't decide years later, its because someone hacked your second rate synth. Not that I care, its not worth the price, for its limited true capability. Dudes over there at Vengeance. The reason other synths don't feel your pain. Is that when something good is out. Musicians will always pay for it

People, you do realize OP is NOT the developer! He just posted the message that Manuel wrote in the closed Avenger Facebook group. So stop posting excuses for using cracked software here.

 

Let's be honest guys. This synth is absolute awesome with countless features and most of all with developers that listen to the user base. That's why I payed for this sophisticated piece of software. Once a year you can buy this synth for nearly 50% off. It's a real pity that they dongle this software in the future!

 

I use many Legit Softsynth´s and DAW´s. Also i have some Products that needs a Dongle (Hollywood Choirs for example) but if i buy Software that needs a Dongle the Software have to be OUTSTANDING and with no Alternative !
The Need of a Dongle for me is a point NOT to buy this software.... Why ? Well, loock at iLok where the User have to pay 50$ for a simple Licensetransfer. also a Dongle is Not undestroyable and last but not least it raises the Price of the Software.
So if u switch to Dongle then i use my Avenger License til the Last Update and will 100% NOT make the Update to 2.0.

Switching to a Dongle is like "Suicide for fear of death".

Nexus is a good Example for this, i don´t know any1 using Nexus (coz of Dongle) but i know many ppl buying Software after they have tryed the Warez version to be on the Legal side if they want to WORK with it as a Pro. (This goes not only for Avenger, but for many other Titles)

 

They are obviously frequenting warez sites to know it's been cracked. It was obvious it would be cracked with no elicenser dongle, so it should be no surprise for them. They've made a lot of money from their other (protected) plugins, so they should be in a position to not have to worry if people pirate their software. Most people pirating never buy much stuff anyway, so it's not exactly lost sales. The part about using cracked expansions with legit software is just scaremongering.

 

I don't think that everyone who pirated a VST is a lost customer. Most people who use warez never buy stuff anyway.

 

Did you check Parawave Audio - Rapid? This synth has the same features (more or less) and sounds bigger than Avenger. Downside: less expansions because it less hyped than Avenger. And no dongle too. It has the same protection as Avenger has now.
Try it and be amazed!

I bought this too in a 50 % Plugin Boutique deal last year. I agree it's a versatile synth but it sounds too digital for me. But I know that the developers are working on that and releasing a complete new built-in reverb too in the next update. Also i.m.h.o. the FX in Avenger are pretty much better.

My opinion is to support these small companies if you can afford it...

Try before buy.

I just don´t wanna try out crappy demos,I wanna know what the whole synth is capable of,and if there are presets,Soundbanks or expansion to buy,if they are any good.
And not buy the pig on a poke...Or the cat in a sack,as we say here. ^^
