Sounds to me like Steve Ronsen was inspired by Dust In The Wind

 

After listening to the track, it's probably his best chance of making any money in the music business.

3 chords and the melody is build with 3 chord notes Em D/F# G - Melody 3rd-Em / 5th-D / 3rd-G.
Sad that you can get sued today for that stock writing.

Sure, I can hear the similarities. Unfortunately, the way the music industry works now, that is what is left of it, copyright is a grey area.
The moment people allowed Hip-hop in the late 1990s to use samples without infringement, the can of worms has never been sealed.
When anyone puts a song or tune out on the Internet on a streaming site, they take a risk that someone with money may hear it and possibly steal it.

I wish it was not true that some well known people have stolen other music, but it is.
The real truths most people will never know. Let's say the song was hypothetically stolen as an example, would Gaga say so? She'd have to be pretty stupid and say she stole it.

I think this has to be corrected . Only 3 chords ? Why not 2 chords , or 4 notes similarity , why not a lawsuit for the length of silence what you find after a song on an 80 audio cassette ...
