As the title says, I have experienced some serious system freezes since I am using TNT's LPX 10.4.6 in Mojave. I have never encountered this before with any other version and I had only few issues with LPX so far. I've gone back to 10.4.5 for now, but I am not sure if LPX is really the problem, so I would like to ask if anyone has experienced the same.

Maybe I should add that I‘m on a Mac Pro 5.1 from 2010... Don’t know if this matters.

 

Dunno if it's relevant to this specific problem, but if I was using a CPU from 2010 I wouldn't run Mohave. Apple, in their OS design, is quite happy to leave old hardware in the dust, to force you to upgrade, and you'd probably get better performance overall with El Capitan, or maybe Sierra, but I wouldn't go any further than that. Of course that precludes the newer versions of Logic, but you can probably go to v10.3.x and it would be pretty stable.

 

I had the same issue.For some reason it stalls on plugins even if they were ok before. Try moving all your AU components in a temp folder (maybe on desktop) and reopen LPX. See if it hangs or if it loads fine. I tried that and I'm now in a process of putting back one by one.Some work and some not. The weird thing is some of the same bundle work while others don't (for example izotope neutron compressor works while neutron eq doesn't)

ok I've got a workaround.I've opened MainStage loaded all the plugins with plugin manager and then quit and open Logic.
Everything works now

 

So you had the same issue with freezing?

 

Mojave could be the problem.

I was testing Catalina's compatibility with plugins and programs on my second computer. While testing , I tried LPX 10.4 , 10.5 , 10.6 . And all had the same issue.On the other hand , plugins would load correctly in Izotope RX , DaVinci Resolve , FCPX and Premiere Pro. So in order to pass the AU validation thing , I tried FCPX (which validated all plugins but it seems this validation isn't registered in Logic's stuff. So I tried MainStage which validated AU's again but this time solved the problem cause I think MainStage and Logic share the same database there. I don't think is Mojave's problem (although I jumped from Sierra to Catalina right away) cause Mojave is already a couple of years old so any issues should be solved.
