Just out of curiosity, I like the diy thoughts but doesn't a lable do more then loan? You can get some momentum with a good sound but how would they know how to handle touring, publishing, marketing, production etc... With a polished sound like this the advantage is that a team of people would more likely get behind them no? This isn't my field but just curious.

It's okay. Your track sound so crystal from my mobile phone speaker. One day you will get many offers. Don't forget to reject them back.

You (artist) have talent but they (label) might have the beans.
So it follows that you don't need 'em 'til you're desperate for beans.
(are you desperate for beans?)
+1 on looking more toward management help for the time being, but not at the expense of your music making of course.
    good luck.

Not to be mean or anything but labels are obsolete ( unless you create your own)
There is no real restriction for you to go as far as you want to go.

    Create a YouTube channel
And make videos with your music and visualizations
Good enough to get millions of views and you will get paycheck each month from the monetization
Then use that money to tour, live, buy food gear etc.
The world is your oyster .
There nothing a label can give you that you can't do yourself.
( After you create that kind of success on your own THEN, labels worth anything will seek you out .)
    Go get it.

First, let me start off by saying that I am in agreement as to the OP not needing a record label at this stage to get his music out there. Secondly, artist independence from record labels is great, and those 360 Deals suck. However, in order to reach global superstar status, an artist needs the backing and investment of a label. Yeah, I know that there have been exceptions but it will take over one million dollars investment to break a new artist in a major market. Whether we like them or not, record labels are the only ones willing to take that financial risk. Moreover, with a label you are going to concentrate on making music, and performing it. You will let the rest of the business to the professionals.

You need a label to release on Spotify & co. (there are ways, but for the most part, thats how it goes)
unfortunately, this commercial genres are not about the music 99,99% of the time.
they don't want your music, they really don't care at all, they want your followers = money.
nowadays pretty much anyone can make "good" music. It needs to be beyond outstanding to get where you want, using just music.

Social media is the key, if you have a bunch of followers, you get in, instantly, no matter how shitty your music is.
    Slowly build that up.

How do You contact them? are You polite? did You got any feedback, ever?

Be consistent but don't spam them. Getting rejected is normal. don't spam them, if you annoy them you get on the spamlist and its over, but y, there are tons of labels...

Just realize that theres a boatload of music they receive every day/hour.
Filtering starts at the Mail header/address. You need to shine there to even get a chance they listen.
Make it short, all the infos should be included without a wall of Text.
include a way to listen to more stuff from you if they got interested.

i only listened on laptop speakers,
at the start of the Track theres a famous sample used, or you recreated a famous one, i don't remember from where but,
there is licensing work to do, just remove it imo.

before you sign any contract, read everything carefully and be aware what you sign, what i t means, and how long it will be in place.
giving it to a lawyer is a good idea.
they gonna fuck you anyway but hopefully you avoid the worst this way.

    Good luck

...and any music library is now "a label". It's not as glamorous as it once was to "be signed to a label". Nowadays... most (independent) labels don't front money, barely cover the costs of productions and tours, take your music in exclusivity AND perpetuity (meaning they will own the rights to your music FOREVER)... and since you pretty much pay your own way, you are better off on your own. This way, you retain the rights to your music... and can ultimately decide your fate... Just sign up with CDBaby and you can upload your tracks, make albums you can sell anywhere and everywhere, with distribution worldwide. You just have to become your own sales department... but who better than you? You LOVE your music the most!

If you go the DIY route I suggest using trademarks. This idea is free; [IMG]

Your best bet is to try and catch a stream of someone signed to the label and send a donation with a link to your track and ask them to pass it along if they like it. This basically works to get connections for a lot of labels tbh....
