I (and certainly you) know most details of music production (thanks to AZ's and AS's great staff's and members' valuable contributions) but I don't think my music would be so successful considering the contemporary standards. What is successful music in this era and how to make one?

Successful music today = social networking, a bit of luck, and basic knowledge about the lowest common demoninator in your target audience.

I would like to share some thoughts with you,if you don't mind
First of all me "assuming" that you are Foster911,you once in the past made a great ambient track,i told you to follow that path & expand on your idea making an album,but i think you didn't listen
Anyway back to your question/s :

considering the contemporary standards don't try to find success thru your music,you make the music you enjoy making whatever the "trend" might be in any given moment,just follow your soul/heart in what you want to write,your own voice & authenticity (imho)

This is deep,but know it : chasing success you're giving away your energy to "success"...chase something in this Universe...& the more it runs away from you....Stand Still,Focus your energy on your music & inspiration & attract Everything . (imho)
Always remember that music above all is Emotion transmitted from one human being to another .
Have the Innocence in you in anything you do musically ,like this 6 year old girl or the The Great Master below :

If u wanna be really successful don't bother too much about others as Spyfxmk2 said ..some really good advice there
One small thing try to get the main points of music down rhythm,melody,space and sound/patch also try to keep it simple.
Most people don't relate to complex stuff.

determination and hard work, stay true to yourself, since may i have had 4 different record contracts for psytrance, 1 contract for a remix i did, and today got another record contract,so 11 tracks in 3 months, keep going and never give up.
