Here I want to give a quick tutorial to process the outcoming sound of your computer (Windows).

That is especially useful when you are watching videos (Youtube or offline) and the audio quality is very poor. You can use a noise suppressor to enhance the audio in realtime.

    1. download "Virtual Audio cable"
      https://www.vb-audio.com/Cable/index.htm
and install it by running VBCABLE_Setup_x64.exe. You need to allow permission and after installation, reboot.

    2. In windows search for "sound" in control panel. By right-clicking on CABLE Input, set Cable-input as the default device.

    3. download "vsthost"
      http://www.hermannseib.com/programs/vsthostx64.zip
      and open vsthost.exe.

      From devices>waves

set the audio inputs and outputs as follows

    4. Load your desired VSTs from file > new plugin to enhance the audio.
You can route by left-clicking, and remove a route by hold left click on it and press right-click. You can edit the plugin by clicking on that very small knob on the block.
For example, I have loaded ERA-D, ERA-Voice Leveler, Fabfilter Q3 to enhance the sound.

Also don't forget to save your modifications in vsthost from performance >save as tab.

    5. Set the volume sliders as follows to allow the processed audio to be heard. Use the left slider for overall volume.

Sometimes I like to run my Headphone jack of my interface into my pre amp and back In the interface for a little flavor.

Be cautions linking anything to it self on a loop like that.. actually hardware can blow and some very very unpleasing sound can shoot in your years on digital

Yes, it is possible for sure. You just need to set the input and output ports of Ableton.
However, vsthost is very lite and opens in a fraction of a second. It took only 70 Mb of my RAM and just 3-5% of my CPU. I am assuming Ableton will be much heavier and take some time to load.
