Bought an S49 from Guitar Center without software, knowing that it obviously wouldn't come with KK, but it won't even let me activate the hardware b/c the original owner still has the hardware serial number activated. Any workaround?

GC would obviously refund but they might also be able to contact previous owner about transferring the serial. That's a huge blunder on their part so might be able to get a manager special if you make a case.

 

Thanks! I called them, got nowhere, called NI and no results. I got frustrated and took it back this afternoon, hoping that GC would step up and do something. They didn’t even try, but they did take it back without question and were very nice about it so I really can’t complain. I knows it was a gamble when I bought it used. Thanks again for the response!

 

Why do you need to activate it?
It should work with the programs off sister site.
i have a KK A49 and have had s61 in past machine and I ran all of them with just sister site stuff.

Registering a piece of hardware to get it replaced or serviced one day is one thing
but if your doing this for software.. save your self the hastle man and just sail the high seas ya dig.
