I know that NanoKontrol2 can act as a DAW controller (HUI Mode) in Pro Tools. But what I could not find on the internet is whether I can use NanoKontrol2 to automate custom plugin parameters!? Anyone succeeded doing so?

I have read the manual and it does not state anything about my question, I appreciate if anybody with NanoKontrol2 actually confirms what I've asked above since I've read many users have had hard time mapping plugins parameters to nanoKontrol2 for automation in Pro Tools.

 

I don't know well ProTools but have you correctly configured your NanoKontrol?Because automation doesn't seem to be anything special in Pro Tools.

I have also seen this video before. The reason I asked was because I have searched and found out some people had problem with plugin mapping, specifically, learn (midi) would not register any knobs? I am using Pro Tools 12.5, I want to know if it is so.

 

May your NK2 is in the wrong Mode. You can switch the NanoKontrol2 from Plugin Mode to Mixermode, mine Worked Fine as a Plugincontroller until i set it to Mixermode, now it does the Mixingjob (Faders and Panning) in Cubase.

You can Switch the Mode while you Press "Set" and "Reverse" and Hold while Switching on the Device, i Set Up mine to Mackiecontrol in Cubase, maybe it helps you.

Hi, it took me a while to discover, but if you want to use nanokontrol2 as a cc controller in pro tools
just select none in midi controller tab ( perepherals ) . The use of hui protocol is for mixing only .You can make a a program and save it.
Write the scene data in the korg editor before launching pro tools ( windows 10 ) you should be set.
You won't be able to ride the faders for mixing but i think you not prioritizing that.

 

If I select none I won't have any input or output then!
