Here we go again, somebody asks a legit question but because it's 'EDM' related it must be mocked.
Anyway, here's a list ..

Breakdown:
Downshifters
Impacts / (metal) hits > sometimes followed by a big reverb
Misc sfx / lasers / bleeps > like short sound effects from field recordings, movies, series etc.
Subdrop > a sine wave from high to low (ends up sounding like a drone)

Build-up:
Reverses > like a crash or cymbal
Uplifters
Risers / hype synths > could be long melodic notes with a pitch rise from low to high (sometimes with LFO tweaks)
Snare roll > sometimes going up in pitch at the end
Clap fill
Pre-drop > sample, acoustic drum roll, so called Pryda snare, breakbeat, vocal shout, short rap loop etc.

Transitions (glue sections together or accentuate parts):
Sweeps / swooshes / noise

Additional:
Fx for creating tension, suspense, atmosphere, ambience, textures etc.

There must be more I guess but this comes to mind

Really don't know exactly. It was a long time since I used it and even than.. I may be way off. Though, would be very interested in some explanation from your side, if you find some time to look at it. Here is ESW's (simple/functional) explanation.
