Plugin Alliance is great with their customers.I stopped my pick pack in June (after 6 payments) and they gave me the 10 plugins though they should not normally, after I've sent them a message.I'm so happy!

I've selected only 2-300$+ plugins (Maag EQ4, Dear Reality dearVR pro, bx_consoles channel strips(SSL ones), SPL IRON mastering comp. and Triad) so yepp, it was a nice present, I've paid only the first 34$ ... :)

I'm curious what all of this means. Are we going to see a subscription model next week? It kinda feels like it to me. I just hope they will continue to let their customers actually buy the plugins to own. I'm also really curious how they're gonna adjust the prices. Obviously it's hard to convince a customer to spend 300$ and more when you have competitors who go 90% of the way for less than half the price (at least that's my impression that I get from reading threads about this).

personally I think companies like PA and Waves have realized most people can spend about $29 per week without their partners asking where it went. Its the old "stack em high, sell it cheap" coupled to the "got to catch them all" mentality...
Works on me, I have to admit...

I have had a chance to listen to the hardware and yes nothing beat that nice $$ unit but it does not mean the brainworx version is not good. It is actually pretty good. I have used also the sknote which is grittier, less punchy, and that works for rock, pop and alike pretty good. But I find the brainworx version cleaner and faster like an ssl compressor with an opto section. The opto is what adds the magic in these compressors. It will certainly make the details stand out specially when used for electronic music. Definitely worthy of checking out!

I use it for a couple of years with my UAD-system. It is actually a very good and useful mastering compressor

Do you think this Lion synth will be worth it? I mean it sounds great and all but also feels like there are other synths out there that can do the same.

LION isn't for download yet as it will be released in August... I think it will be available 2 weeks before the release as they do it with all new stuff...

Depends what you mean by worth it. I just know I'm gonna have a good laugh when they finally publish the price tag. It's basically BYOME/Triad with oscillators and right now they're charging $300 for triad lol.

What do you guys think... is $1000 a fair price for Lion? $500?

I got the wife to buy BYOME for my Christmas present, as I'm a real sucker for glitchy/modular effects, but told her not to buy it until I said so, eventually picked it up for $69. Just upgraded to TRIAD for $24 using this months Voucher. Would hope to pick up LION for a similar amount, as its really just BYOME with Oscillators.

Interested to get a demo as Unfiltered IMHO can sound a bit harsh and thin at times and the sound clips on the website are not filling me with confidence that it will be any different.

Will be interesting to see how much they want from me... In no hurry to buy it, so suspect it will end up being my usual no more than $29. Only companies I buy at full price from is u-he, Valhalla, and Sonic Charge.

That must be a coincidence as these companies never do sales right
At least you can get second hand licenses from shady marketplace forums with a significant discount, although that might turn some of the licenses into a NFR

u-he does occasional, I used the "retire a dinosaur" promotion to get a discount on that, and buy in the open beta phase is a good bet, not much risk with a u-he product.
Look I think what I'm trying to say is I'm a bloke in his middle age in a job that makes me comfortable, I'm not rich but neither am I poor. I love audio technology, have always been obsessed by it, used warez in past but now almost exclusively legit. A bit of patience and some canny purchasing and knowing the difference between what I want and actually need, has helped me equip myself with a studio I could not have dreamed of in the 80s. I am really grateful to the developers for producing the stuff, especially the small ones that actually listen to their users and produce real labors of love. These I like to support. As for the big boys, well I don't care that I get that new NI synth that can rip holes in Kevlar speakers to slap in my latest EDM tune as soon as it comes out, na, Ill wait till the summer sale thanks and by the bundle dirt cheap, and the whole $29 plugin thing, moves a Christmas present to a month treat. I'm in...:like:
While I don't think I'm a shareholders dream, I like to think I do my bit.

Might just try it out first though...... :winker:

Will they still be doing deals? There are a few more I want to buy, but not for $349 + tax.
