The Data of this DAW benchmark is 10 years old so it's not really representative any more. Maybe windows users can still use Windows 7, but I don't know anybody who still uses Snow Leopard (10.6.8) - OSX is approaching 10.15 now. Because Apple forced users to upgrade the OS in order to be able to use the latest version of Logic, etc.. Not even mentioning the hardware differences. in 2009 Intel CoreDuos were the norm.

But it would be intersting to see a current comparisons of Studio One since it's available on both systems and has the "freshets" code of any major DAWs.

Very off topic, tbh. And also: you could at least state the DAW you are using. But usually it's [ALT]+Drag

10 year old benchmark, seriously?

on a side note, if anyone can tell me howto make proper benchmark, I will do direct comparison of Windows 10 LTSC and MacOS High Sierra on exact same hardware (hackintosh) with Reaper (as the most efficient DAW) and RME HDSPe AIO interface

Wow you think Linux / FreeBSD is commands? You had better research. You can get about 9 or more different GUI with it.
Anyway PC is not the king of networking on the server side Linux / FreeBSD is. Windows is poop for hard heavy traffic.

One of the methodologies they used there was just counting the number of compressors you can put on a track and play audio until CPU hits 100%.
They also did the test for the number of polyphonic notes (stacking midi on top of each other) in Kontakt.
Ideally, you should find a task manager which is available for both Mac and Windows.

This is explained here as well: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/cpu-performance-tested#top

"CPU hitting 100%" is not a valid criteria I'd say,
there's realtime cpu usage stack, overall cpu usage of all cores combined, task manager cannot even properly display those afaik,
background processes also differ across different OS architectures, so the testing is somewhat compromised,

anyway, which plugins and instruments should I grab for testing?

No Idea I use reaper natively. No Issues. All plugins seem to work fine.

@tzzsmk Stock plugins, of course, if you want equal comparison. They should share the same source code base
