    Yes, many people think Quiet Riot wrote this song. (I prefer the original version.)

    But just because a Metal band has covered a track doesn't mean that it is a Heavy Metal track in the first place.

    In another genre, we're not going to call Needles & Pins a punk song because this song was covered by the Ramones.

    Blue Monday was one of the earliest tunes despite the synthesizer music from the usual suspects that really catched me back then. Together with Oh Yeah from Yello, 19 from Paul Hardcastle and a bunch of others. I loved all the alien soundeffects (extended version?) a lot.

    Not a specific genre-starter, but i love this tune. First heard it on a early electro breakdance tape end of the 80‘s, and i‘m pretty amazed tune is from 1978! The sinewave with cutoff-lfo sequence (@ 2 min mark) sounds perfect for an electric boggie robot dance

    As you correctly noted, not a trend setter but a song that sounded different from the rest. Not even Ware thought that The Human League would ended up selling more than 20 million records. Had he thought that, he would not had left the group to form Heaven 17.
