    Hi

    I need some advice.

I´ve lately bought the Strings/Brass/Woodwinds I need but Im really confused when it comes to orchestral percussion. I need a wide palette of orch percussion but it needs to be dry/close.

    Remember: DRY/CLOSE!

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

Strezov Sampling Orchestral Percussion X3M. It has 3 mic positions but you can just select the close ones.

And it even has as-of-yet unsampled percussion (like orthodox chruch bells)

Spitfire Audio - Hans Zimmer Percussion. I like the depth of it colors and tones and feels overall.

You did not specify your budget for this library.
Nonetheless, the usual suspects come to mind: Spitfire Audio or Orchestral Tools.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of these.

You might also consider Cinesamples libraries or even SAM if you are after that cinematic sound.

Im not on a budget @mrpsanter but you have a point.
I have considered SAM 1 but it´s not exactly dry/close.... Im in general not into cinematic stuff.
    SF percussion... hmmm same issiue.
Orchestral tools might be an option.

    Thanks :like:

I prefer Heavyocity's Master Sessions Series. There are Loops and Kits.

Orchestral, dry and close? Nothing beats VSL Percussion. Best possible sound quality recorded on a custom built silent stage.

I recently bought the super package second hand and I am selling my copy of VSL Percussion Standard and Elements. Let me know if you are interested.

For realistic percussion - Impact soundworks rhapsody or Orchestral tools Berlin (this one is pretty big).
For cinematic stuff - Spitfire HZ or anything can work, it's cinematics (basically fake) - slap hall/church reverb on your plastic bottles samples and you make them cinematic, wow

Native Instruments Percussion have a release button, turn it down to 0% and you get a dry sound. This library also got a close mic choice
