What do you think of Sonex Audio? Do you think it's a scam?
Everything in Sonex Audio is suspicious. Almost no particular reviews, no professional review. Not a word on the web of the sampling process, equipment used, or a miserable video, nothing on YouTube, Vimeo, etc. I have not been able to check their presence on social networks because I do not use those things.
Extremely cheap prices, new reason for suspicion. On their website, they sell their libraries like someone who sells shoes, a product photo, a magnifying glass to zoom in on the cover (!!!) and an "Add to Cart" button, nothing more.
Recording orchestral instruments has to be a complicated and expensive task and only available to true sampling professionals.
Everything seems to indicate that they have stolen samples and packaged them in Kontakt, of course, in an interface that tries to be attractive. It would be interesting to know to whom. To give you more false sense of quality, they have artificially inflated the size of the samples. I read out that the sample of a pizzicato lasts 40 seconds!
I remember the case of Sonart Audio (similar sound with Sonex Audio)

 

Not to be confused with the legendary Sonnox Audio.

 

i did a "WHOIS" on the webadress and its "hidden". Hosted on OVH in London. Usually a real person or company would be a visible Name-C.
The website is a 30 minutes "template" and add some pictures.

Tested a few libs now. I cannot say if it´s a scam but I can say this:
I wouldn´t pay for any of their libs...... bad edited, ugly and useless GUI etc. Amateurs I guess!
