I have the Roland Cloud VI version of the Juno-106 (macOS). For whatever messed-up reason, Roland decided not to include the original factory presets, as they did with all of their other Cloud instruments, and instead chose to include just one bank of either presets that take advantage of all the new functions they added (arpeggiator, effects, etc.) or a couple of the original "1984" presets. v1.0.4 seems to include a way to create and save new banks and patches, but I think Roland expects you to primarily either go back and forth between a System-8 hardware device as a plug-out or download any new patches from Roland Cloud on your subscription plan ... neither of which I have. Of course, I can't confirm any of this, because the user's manual, or their site or even doing a search for it online say virtually nothing about it.

I also have the latest version of Juno Editor and all the original Juno factory presets as .jep files. What I can't figure out is how to load them into the Juno-106 VI. One of the few things that the limited sources of info out there about this says is, the Cloud version of the D-50 is the only one of their VIs that can read .sysex information. I tried hooking the Editor's MIDI output up to the host program containing the Juno-106 VI with no luck. If there's a format that the Juno-106 VI can read, I'm not seeing it. I figure this is probably a long shot, but if anybody has some insight, I'd deeply appreciate it!

@Iggy What DAW do you primarily use? If it is Studio One I can send you all the Factory presets and they will show up automatically in your Studio One Browser or I can convert them for you and send them as fxp, fxb files.

Unfortunately, I use Digital Performer, Logic and PT, plus I usually test plugs in Hosting AU. Do the Roland Cloud VIs use regular fxp or fxb files? I couldn't even find where the presets are stored.

Im on Windows but here is what we can do. Send me a screenshot of all the Patches you have for Juno 106. In return I will send you all the patches that you are missing. I will send them as VST3 presets files. Then you are going to drop each one into your Juno 106 and when the preset opens you are going to click on PATCH>WRITE>READ and the preset will now be part of your banks Juno 106 banks. I forgot to tell you, at least in Windows the presets are located in presets bins. Idont know if a preset bin from my Roland will work in yours. If you want to try let me know.

I have the all the presets that came with Roland Cloud Juno 106 ... that's not the problem. I'm trying to load all hardware factory presets from the original Juno-106, which, for some reason, Roland didn't actually include with the VI. They put a few on (anything marked "1984"), but it's mostly new presets. You would think it would be possible to use something like Juno Editor to send data to the virtual Juno-106, but I can't seem to find a way to do it.

Got you! Let me try my librarian and report back to yuo. By the way, do you have al 64 Factory Prests? Because one of the releases was missing 12 presets. Banks F,G, and H have (8) 1984 presets each for a total of 24. Which Librarian Editor are you using?

I do have all 64 Roland Cloud presets (just counted). I have the latest version of Juno Editor for Mac, which is designed to work with the hardware Juno-106, but which should (theoretically) be able to control the software version via MIDI.

Away from music mac, book yeah these
just have to be placed in the right folder, as I seem to remember. But I still fear you'd have to fire sysx at the Juno to get your original presets in. Unless you can create .jep.
I used to have the 106 but I sold it for a good price.
Great to be able to load up all my D-50 soundcard collection & .sysx's to the D-50 though!

Mine for Windows does not. Only way is to convert the jep to vst3 presets.

It loads BIN files. Dump your Juno SYSEX data, then go here to turn it into a BIN file: http://www.difficultaudio.com/roland.php Then on the Juno soft synth click "patch", then "load" and load the BIN file into a bank. (It says that converter was made for the D50, but it might work with the Juno as well. Worth a shot )

@Nana Banana I tried that a couple of months ago. It told me something about the files being too large or too small to be a D50 bank. At least in the Windows Editor the sysex files are less than 1Kb.

Dang, that sucks. I can't think of anything else cause I'm on Windows too. Looks like your conversion is the only way.

The solution is converting those presets to something like VST3 presets. Or simply looking at the settings on editor and copying them to vst. I have done several like that. The good thing is that it is easier to make it sound very close to the original because we can use the Tape Save Recording wav. files as reference. If 4 or 5 get to it we can do it all quick.

I think it only converts banks, not individual presets (on a whim, I tried it out myself and got the same results @The Pirate did).

However, I think I may have figured out a solution ... kind of. If there were some way to convert .syx files to .bin files, they should be able to open. I did a simple re-naming of a converted .syx preset to ".bin" and the Cloud 106 recognized it. Unfortunately, it encountered an error reading the file and couldn't load it, most likely because it wasn't an actual .bin file. I've looked everywhere and can't find a generalized .syx to .bin converter, other than Difficult Audio's online D50 converter.
