    Hello!
I noticed through the brainworx meter plugin that my bassline(mono), is hard balanced to the left despite the panpot being central, why?,how can I avoid it?
    thx

  3. Sounds like a mismatch between a mono bass track and a stereo output.

Almost every daw has a utility plugin with a dedicated mono setting. try that. if some way ur daw doesn't have a dedicated utility plugin, search one on the net, theres trillions, all free.

Must be a phase problem...if you have stereo track.

Err, you mean the meter shows it's panned to the left or does it sound only left?

You didn't by chance hit the 'L' switch in the bottom row to listen to your bassline?

Can you be a lot more detailed and specific?
Stereo analyzer on a mono channel?

where do you hear the bass ? do you rely on a plugin visually telling you where the bass is?

If you add a stereo analyzer on a mono track then yes, you will only have signal on left channel. It has nothing to do with phase. That's just the way it works with mono and stereo.

Put mono effects on mono channels and stereo effects on stereo channels.

why do you care though? All it's indicating is that your bassline, a mono track, effectively only has one channel of output. So when you use a stereo metering plugin it picks one output channel - usually the left one - and leaves the other one at -inf

unless you're saying it sounds like it's hard panned left, which is another stereo/mono mismatch, particularly when trying to record a mono input to a stereo track... in which case you need to just make a mono channel for your bass

Just insert the meter in the main/master out and the problem is solved.

    mono track and vst mono

  15. Make sure the underlying track is stereo. When mono is dumped onto a stereo track bed it always falls to the left.
