BTW, also just missed the "big" sale of this stuff at Native Instruments. I totally get the "try it first" method.. but if you are serious about it, you wanna prob buy it someday. So "trying" and esp "training" with something you will never have the chance to afford is kind a waste..

175$ budget is a bit tight. From your description, you'd need at least 2 packages.. Even if you save some more, you'll probably have to wait for a sale or a bundle offer somewhere. Some places to look:

Thanks for the usable information.I wanted to buy Symphonic Sketchpad earlier when I had saved up some money but when I tried to upgrade my system to 32 GB RAM I was told that my system only supported only up to 16 GB.Moreover I went for the East West Orchestra and subscribed for a year on Christmas and their system was so buggy .It had been more than 45 days and yet not all libraries were downloaded and I could not stand it.It was also difficult to work with.I eventually gave up on it.All money lost and I am still paying.

I think I'd like to go with the try first method...I want to support the developer but I can't pay for something that's worthless or has no use for me

 

Is the Orchestra a great orchestral library besides the engine itself?Their strings legato is not much convincing to me.I am at the moment trying out Amadeus Orchestra which seems good(the number of articulations) and I have plans to buy it very soon but again the problem is legato.I plan to buy a sample library with good string legatos after I save some more money

 

Ava instinct is a small yet very well recorded set of hits. Always reaching for that library.

if you wanna go legit the Orchestra is a very good start. Real amazing legato with Brass Woods and Strings is the 500$ + and even there are a lot of complaints. Legato is very difficult. Yes, if you use the sister site and try before buy, thats an option.

Grab a good synth like Zebra or Omnisphere instead.

metaller has a point here. Didn't want to put it like that because some people obv find it useful and YMMV. I had a shitload of this installed.. used it for umm.. inspiration a couple of times. But now I find it mostly a waste of disk space..

Get yourself a good base lib first (again, don't know what you already have..) then, with some creative use of effects, you can do it all by yourself. Couple that with some "orchestral SFX" sample pack(s) that go for 10-15$ (e.g. HQ Samplephonics stuff) and you have more than enough to play with..

Also, big name "pros" are known to use synths in their film/trailer/hybrid/... production.
