    I own a macbook pro and a hacintosh on which I built for $556. Just be sure that you buy parts mac has used in the past/current.

    If you have a look here (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page) you can see what hardware is compatible and how you can go about programming the BIOS and loading drivers.
