This is not correct. I do it. Everyone can do it. "You do not have the guts" is a very poor argument. They always try to interprate the behaviors of some people with some "psychological" nonsense. This is the reason why he uses some words like "karma" because he has of course no clue what he's talking about. If someone would be so kind and translate "karma" into a real life situation he would understand that there is no karma at all but "I behave nervously and excited and therefore I take two steps at once and fly on my mouth". This is what karma is, nothing else.

I saw someone who does have written in his undertitle "We aren't pirates, we are poor artists" or something like this. Someone who loads cracked plugins but is not able to make some music with it and spread it out is not an poor artist but just poor.

I am through with buying anything, I lost so much time reporting bugs for my paid stuff.
i actually fell better when using pirated stuff. I don't care if it crash nor do I need continuously report bugs.
If something doesn't work i simply don't use it and trow it away
However if something runs cracked stable I might support that developer.
But before investing I usually write a technical support request just to test the support if he deserves my money ;)

 

well, he has a point and everything buuuuuuuuuuuuuut........who the heck can pay for all that crap? what a bunch of crap. every "famous" artist/producer/whatever today is most likely to use cracked DAWs or plugins lol. and besides - just because your software are legit does not mean that you still didn't "copy" anyone else's stuff, melody or anything else. people still do it

 

Whatever. I love when stuff appears on sister site for the first time, people start talking about it all over KVR, Youpoop etc... Tutorials appear, yadda yadda. Because, many people buy plugins exactly after the appearance on sister site.
Uncertainty about malware etc. should not be a problem, just create multiboot with system drives invisible to each other. Leave network adapter disabled mostly. Boom, done, works. (I heard)

I buy all stuff I am really convinced in. Next one will be Bitwig for instance. Sometimes I really want to throw money at the really good developers.

And... We all know, if stuff remains uncracked, it'll also stay unknown. The "stolen" stuff did not disappear anywhere. The "stolen" stuff would likely not have been bought anyway.

Being a good developer where people like to throw monay at and having free advertising as in Youtube, likely thanks to piracy, is how it works.

The gaming industry basically destroyed piracy via Steam. Because simply they sell huge masses, everything available for everyone through affordable prices.

This is very correct . And this is exactly the reason why those protections are completely worthless in any imaginable way. Definetely not lucrative for the developers. How many people buy stuff because it isn't cracked yet? A few. The most people which are doing music with cracked stuff doing it because cracked stuff is available. If it wasn't they wouldn't do music.

They really just have no clue.

Sadly, I know there are some famous exceptions from the rule, but when it comes to pirated software across my entire circle of acquaintances, the more money they have the less cracks they have.
So I know people who haven't got a single legit software and those who haven't a single crack at all.

Oddly enough every 3rd party plugin I use is legit now but started off being pirated lol! I tried’em, got used to them and bought them when they went on sale (most for dirt effin cheap). Anywho whatever works for the user is best in my opinion!

 

I think all producers use some kind of pirated plugins at some point in their life. But I agree with the guy, buy the ones you actually use or rephrasing, the ones that are really good that you are willing to support the company for their future development. I have bought things that later have been cracked, brainworx for example. I do not miss that money.

It seems he is mad for his tutorials being pirated. Since he cannot do anything about it he has made a video to tell people somehow to stop pirating his stuff.

 

As "they" say... "Try before buy". I love that philosophy.

I think that is utterly useful so you can filter out those you don't like, be it plugins or the developer, or both. When you do that, buy what you like, and support the developers you like. Simple. However, in practice, it isn't that simple. There are so many choices. But then again you have forums like this to find out about good things, or bad things, albeit I'm only trusting my ears and my expertise. If you have some time to spare, it's always a good idea to go and test all those EQs, then Compressors etc. in one setting, then eliminate those you don't like and won't use. Having fewer choices, and knowing your tools really well, makes your life much easier, meaning more productive.

Even if youre going to pay the devs for every plugin, and for the overwhelming majority i do, cracks are still better demos than demos

Time limits, intermittent dropouts, intermittent noise, parameter initializing on reload, removed features and every other demo limitation can suck a fat dick. If im demoing your plugin, i mean to buy it if i decide that it will be useful, inspiring, sonically superior or whatever. I draw those conclusions by using it in the context of actually making music. I cant pretend to be using it while making music if it emits a blast of white noise at -0dB every 60 seconds.

If i wanted to steal your plugin, i would have already done it. Just give me a fully functioning demo with an expiration date.

 

One thing for sure, working with a client in studio and suddenly having a browser pop up saying "you're using pirated plugins" from FabFilter is a terrible look.

 

Who says that? What if you get quality sound with that K'ed fabfilter plugins? It does not matter at the end.
