For the studio I use this: quikquak pitchwheel

Using a vst harmonizer could be tricky in a live performance. My advice for gigs is to go for outboard gear, something like that:
TC-Helicon Voicetone Harmony M Vocal Harmonizer, here a demo:

then, you have the autotune effect, the vocoder and the talkbox, but that is a completely different story

    Nectar 3?

You can even determine number of voices and snap to key

I have a Korg PA3X arranger keyboard with very similar TC Helicon vocal effects built-in. See demonstration here
. The lartest model PA4X also has same.

I use the TC Helicon Voicelive Play Acoustic. I never really found a VST harmonizer I liked very well, but I've heard the TC Helicon stuff live in quite a few different scenarios (full band, solo performer, etc.) and it's pretty believable. The harmonies really let you know when you've hit a bad note!

for live use I'd always plump for hardware unit where possible.
less faffing about in my opinion.

software, I'm quite happy with quikquak pitchwheel but I don't see it as being very live friendly.
