    Hey guys!

I started diving deep into the music world three months ago. I feel like the best way to grow and learn as producer is to get feedbacks (especially negatives one) about the tracks. If you could give this song a listen and let me know what you think, that would be awesome!

    Thanks everyone! :drummer:

And this is why I don't understand peoples obsession with the 808. It's not too bad overall, but rhythmically it doesn't move enough. There isn't any interplay between bass and rhythm. It needs to bounce. Then there's a problem with midrange, meaning you need a pad or some chord stabs, maybe an arpeggio. But if you only start 3 months ago, you're doing better than me.

For only 3 months this is nice. I like the sounds you pick, progression is good too!

Mixwise there might be some things you could look into like some possible phase issues, .. or you could always just focus on developing the writing and hire a mix engineer to do the rest. you've got an ear for this so keep rocking

    It's a great start!

Try to tease more. At the moment stuff is always happening in the track (common beginner mistake). Force it to shut up in exciting ways and make the listeners wait more, so it's very emotional when stuff comes back in and sounds even sweeter than before.

It's dance music and what makes people dance is the gaps, their body wants to fill the gaps you leave for it with dance movements.

It's all single notes; no chord progression. Maybe you mean something else?

^ Yes; definitely a good start. Especially for just 3 months.
3 months = I don't think we should comment on mix or arrangement. Just the composition.

I meant how the song moves forward in this case and not chord progression. A lot of songs loop over and over where here OP has an understanding of song progression and keeping things a bit more interesting. You just brought up a huge point that might help regarding chord progression too though.

Oh okay. You meant the non-musical term of 'progression'! I'm so pedantic!
Yes, the song evolves along its journey in a musical way.
The root, top line & sub melody make or imply a chord. Like orchestral divisi.
Quite cool there's no actual chords played on any one instrument though.

I hadn't thought of it that way. Interesting. A sort of Switched On Bach style. I might try that myself. (and if it works, remember it was my idea)

Thanks everyone for the feedbacks guys, is so much appreciated! Means a lot :)

Regarding chords playing with a pad, I was thinking about it but then I decided not to because in my other tracks I always felt like there were too many instruments playing and things going on. In this one I tried to focus on make the bassline and the leads kind of speak to each other and let these sounds be clear and stand out as much as possible.

I will try to add it in my next track :)

What do you mean exactly? Could you explain a little more? :)

I really dig the automation on the synths.

Try to start to tell a story in your track:

Exposition - What will your track sound like? Maybe add a bassline that is not playing in "full force". Or some muffled or hihats.

Breakdown - After you have shown what your track is about, try to decrease the energy, just to build up tension.

Drop - Release the Tension, Drop the Full Bassline and the Beat...

This scheme is very basic, but you get the point. I really like your piece musically.

Also notice this music has often changes occurring every 8, 16 or 32 bars. That makes it easier for you to play with anticipation, release, build of tension.

    Good luck!

Same. I think that's how to like music, generally.

For example just past the 1 minute mark, the bass is just locked to the kick. It would help if it moved about in the spaces and had its own melodic content.

I'm liking this moosh, nicely laid back and melodic, and it held my interest for the duration.......that does not happen often here.

I suspect you have some talent combined with what is obviously a musical ear, you're lucky as thats more than most start with, dig in and enjoy the work.

    Thanks for the listen

    Right on.

Saves you years if you know not to get stuck on individual tracks with endless polishing. Just do the best you can, finish it, and start the next immediately. Quality in electronica comes only from quantity! Always push to increase the quantity of your output and bang new tracks out relentless, the quality takes care of itself for you.

This is really an amazing advice! Sometimes I just get stuck too much on one song only. Thank you! :)
