Rokit 6 was my first pair. They don't sound as if the reference speaker was in their mind. Also, really didn't like the color of the sound.

I would go for the smallest, cheapest Adam's instead. Or Focal Alpha maybe?

These are NOT the low end Rokit 6, not even close. These are KRK V6, looking like the Series II which I have had and adored for the past 10 years. I bought them from a guy in Germany for less than the price you might buy them for way back then and couldn't be happier with them this entire time. These are the best of all the V series and I've seen them in lots of studios as a second or third pair of monitors in photos and videos. They don't fatigue my ears for hours. They can get louder than you'll ever want for near fields. I wholeheartedly suggest getting a pair. They came out in 2005, so make sure they work, and if they are all good to go they should be for the foreseeable future.

V Series (like VXT) is a whole different story. Unlike Rokits they are targeted at professionals and sound much more balanced or "accurate".

On the picture they look like S2 (review on SOS). $300 is not a bad price for a pair.

    Edit: Haha, too slow...

Yeah, I thought that might be the case and that my advice could be off, I remember seeing KRKs in pro studious after all. That's why I mentioned the exact model I was referring to.

They aren't overrated. I use the VXT8's a lot, as well as others, and they haven't lied to me in translation on other systems or speakers. and they don't fatigue. I had some problems with rf interference due to their somewhat lack of internal shielding, but their new line supposedly has addressed that. Hell, Alan Moulder and Flood and whatnot use them (the 8's), and they are fine monitors.
