You're absolutely right about the drum parts. Need variation. Might get around to it.

For me, this would not work the same at all if it had an acoustic snare. Just sayin'.
The whole point of this type of groove is that it is electro, and this fits with the genre/type of track.
Btw, your vocalist is way better than the ex-colleague I had in mind. She wasn't a vocalist anyway, just a chancer. Thank heavens for nice mics and compressors! <sigh> and Eric Kupper, the sod. long story.

Have to say I disagree. Any breakdown might spoil the sexy ambling along of it. The momentum of slow & groovy needs to grind (oo-er) along continuously, imo. If you were to drop out the kick & snare leaving the perc, I'd imagine I'd want to write in an extra 2 or 4 bars just for the purpose of a breakdown.
But. Maybe a 2 quarter note eighth note! <cut>, once, for just before her vox comes in for the first time.
And a simple fill, maybe only used twice, but must be made to sound sample (loop) like to fit the style.
I'm thinking of a fill à la 'Sex In The Summer' by Prince. Happens at start, and throughout. It's either a Motown sample, or copied as per.

I could do all those things, but when all's said and done, nobody's going to hear it. It'll just sit on Soundcloud with 50 listens in total. The folks at Ministry Of Sound aren't knocking at the door with their cheque book in hand.

Unfortunately I couldn't hear the tracks. I got this message instead! "Oops, we couldn’t find that track."

Yeah, I get that. I have to use a different browser to listen, usually.

We had a publishing deal which we were fulfilling with stuff like this, the demos were poorer mixes, and it led to worldwide distribution on compilations along-side bigger tracks they'd licensed for the comp. In those situations, after paying so much for usage of the bigger, known tracks, they will always need 'filler' tracks. You just need to find the publisher with the links to the bigger guys; who always need product. Because the big licensed tracks had already charted, the comps went top 20, with ours on there.
As long as you always keep these projects, anything can happen...

Unfortunately there isn't such a network operating in Australia and if there was it wouldn't be impressed a bald, white bearded 60 year old flogging his tracks. I should be in an assisted living facility where I get my valium each day for free. Instead of paying for it like I do now.

Not your fault. I pulled the other tracks. Poor quality. Lewd content. Homo and Hetero phobic content. A denouncement of both communism and capitalism. And a heartfelt plea to save the whales and to continue harpooning them on sight. Blubber is Delicious was the name of track 2.

    I. am. your. follower. :beg:

Re. 'My Childhood'; never before have so few sentences made me laugh so much!
And I even have 'The Brand New Monty Python Bok' and The Young Ones book, so that's saying...something...
edit: For some reason, the newest post was witnessed after that one. :dunno:
I guess someone left the page scrolled down to there, prior to me arriving.
I scrolled it back as it should be.

Sounds like my cup of tea. A bit of controversy is a dangerous thing these days though!

Posted elsewhere but the final track in the series. I'm over lounge music now. I'll be seeking inspiration in other furniture.

    YES!
Love how the track breathes with the compression or limiting. Love all the new stuff you've done to it. And guitar seems an obvious choice now! Brilliant. And the new organ.
The kick at the start still gives me shivers. Appeals to my Purpleness.
    Thank you for my fix!
Please don't stop doing what you do. All your productions are full of soul, imo.

@notsoloud Is that all you can do? That's all. Your track sucks. The worst piece of music I have heard in my entire life. Even worst than Milli Vanilli. Keep your job as a fast cook.

My brother, you know I was just joking. Your track is awesome! I love it. Just like the rest of the music you have shared with all of us. Thank you for sharing. Now let me go back to my tirade ...that intro sucks, the eq's ....

    Are you there? Almost.
The compression fx could use a bit fine-tuning and the bass run, err, walk would benefit from a bit more variety. But other than that you/she/it are/is/is there.
