    Great thread :like: As an ex owner of an original TB 303 and trier of many hardware that imitate it, the best one I have heard is the Ladyada xOxbOx (pronounced "zox-box"). Ladyada reverse engineered a real TB-303, part by part, and designed a clone that sounds very nearly identical to the TB-303. https://www.ladyada.net/make/x0xb0x/

    mine is mam modified, not the closest but a little beast , with deep bass and great acid possibilities

    Yes: from what I read in reviews, it seems the best clone (plus usb and midi), also, it is possible to add mods. I’m trying to buy that but unfortunately it is out of stock. There are various resellers on ebay but I dont feel confortable with 2nd hand gear. Do you have any news of official restock?

    according to some of the purists no clone comes close to the original but what almost everyone forgets is that your target audience is unlikely to hear the difference, if they even know what a 303 is to begin with.

    btw voltage modular is on sale at pluginboutique with 80% off. i bought it a few weeks ago for €27,-

    Maybe not the closest to a real 303 but a fun facsimile with knobs on...i really enjoyed owning one when i used to own physical rather than digital objects. great toy and probably cheap on ebay.. The sampler is noisy and barely usable but the presets are great: 2 bar sequences for bass or lead [seperate modes for no particular reason!], always easy to find a killer starting point for a riff...some basic roland type drums as well. I also had a quasimidi 309 [haha] which is so almost 303 but sounds like shit....now I would just make a 303 from scratch in sylenth/serum/surge +ableton saturation/overdrive....never used a real one tho....out of my price range...

    @Herr Tony , would you happen to have a semi-recent archive of SignalDust software including the dolphin? The guy's site is dead, KVR only links there, and it's a damn shame because the tools seem to be secret-weapon tier, the work of an insane scientist.

    Gotta respect that! "Digital Filofax" indeed! lol. I always remembered it as a 303, but now it looks too big.
    S-Express 2 nearly happened for me for about a year; but it became Xpress 2 Poptartz with Boy George. :sad:
