Today a new version of Studio One 4.5 was Released with fantastic new Macro Funktions and New Features for the Chordtrack....

 

Saw their vid... awesome new features, like CPU improvements, chord track features, m4a export. Plus a new batch converter, separate utility add-on.

 

Still no waveform drawing, no layout customizability and many other missing feature ! No trim automation.

 

Don't get me wrong, presonus is developing SO much faster than Avid but is trailing in the basic feature list.

 

yes and i like it, might be time to say goodbye to ableton, gr8 new features, look forward to the release

Does it still fail to scan VST plugins?

just boot s1 v4 and hit update at the top... you dont need to log into your account

Stuck for about 30 minutes with the little bastard: "Waiting for plug-in scan process", then... I gave up.

 

No scan issue here. Takes 3 secs maybe. Over 700 vsts

 

Honestly if youre really familiar with your daw dont throw it out, you should stick with it!

 

Things I don't like about Studio One:

No x32 VST bridge, Insanely slow VST scan. And the virtual midi keyboard is garbage.

Damn, why can't they get it together?
It's like I love the flow of Reaper, but I want the features of Studio One.


Honestly, Studio One is the real Culture Vulture of DAWs.
I even see some things it has taken from Reaper.
AND, supposedly, they've improved CPU performance?

Man... all they need to do is fix that VST stuff and make a better virtual keyboard.

 

For a free .5 version, that'll do nicely.

 

i used ableton since version 7 and love it, but some of the new features in studio one 4.5 interest me, ill still use live for sure for a while yet

 

Fantastic update, one of the best ever! Great new features for mixing! And it's free! I really don't get why some people are complaining... You prefer Bitwig, Ableton or Pro Tools - stick to it, what's the problem?

 

Studio One will never get x86-x64 bit-bridge, it was offcially stated by Presonus. It's ancient history (32-bit plugins) and noone cares about it in 2019. There's still jBridge if you need it. Who fucking needs virtual MIDI keyboard?

 

Very nice DAW , but is still a miss ... This is my main DAW so don't understand me wrong , but ...
Still no NI Komplete Kontrol MK2 support , requested 2 years ago by many users ,
Magix Sequoia 15 is loading vst x32 (nostalgia maybe) , many plugins sound so good ...
Ableton have improvisation recording ...
And my list can go on ....
