Maybe you should contact this guy'
    https://soundcloud.com/jonas-berg-6

As far as I've heard he was the one who bought Alan's complete Emulator stuff incl. sound disks a few years ago when Alan Wilder sold his complete gear from the Depeche Mode times. Simply go through his sound list and listen to the songs with the note (Alans EMax setup used)

    For example this one

Maybe mine can be useful for your tribute? I created 138 DM presets (not sampled from original DM records, so they are even "royalty free" FWIW). Both for Kontakt4+ and Sampletank3. It's "pay what you like" (donate at least 2€ via paypal). You can find it here: www.mheo.altervista.org

You should try to search on YouTube for Depeche Mode Synth1 patches.
There's a guy from Turkey which has excellent Sound Design skills and patches for Synth1 and Arturia Mini that are very good at a ridicolous price.

You have those samples? Where do you got them from? I spoke of the really original EMax Sample Disks that Alan sold in an auction a few years ago! But however...share them at sister site! I guess you would get millions of Kisses! :mates:

    As you can see here:

This is also just another proprietary sample player. I think its really hard to find real presets for VSTis. The problem ist, even Depeche Mode themselfes used samples (they sampled own their own) in most of their songs from the mid 80ies until the SOFAD album. They is nearly impossible to recreate with a synth.

FWIW, I doubt you can find "pure" DM patches (as in: "find them in a real vintage and/or virtual synth"). Even the old Wilder's "Emax" presets were just processed samples, and you won't even find a single "DM patch" in all the PPGwave, ARP2600 (and other dozens DM synth setups) presets. Everything in DM songs is processed. That's why it is impossible to recreate DM patches with a synth only. I realized the best way to get some credible result was the "labour of love method": it consists in listening carefully and trying to imitate the sounds (drums, bass, pads, leads, effects). You have to build them yourself starting from a similar sounding preset taken from your synth/vsti arsenal and "refining" it with filters, modulation and overlapping. And then again, and again, and again, and again, until you feel it's a decent imitation of the original sound. It's fake, but it works well enough. It all ends with samples, essentially. Otherwise you can alway ask MUTE RECORDS to open the f**** safe, LOL

    hi Adam,
i calibrated to buy those but:
    1. the payment system was very uninviting
    2. in order to get all the patches i needed i had to buy a lot of packages...there was not something like: depeche mode presets for all the songs you want
    3. it was difficult to select the packages i wanted because each one had 2 or maybe 3 songs i wanted, plus i few i didnt like, and it was awkward to know what was in where

i mostly agree with you, and yes the reason i bought your soundbank is because i like it and use it as well but...
you made 11 songs and i want to work on 20 at least
also i could use from each of your songs about a 50% of the sounds partially because:
i like most of the sounds, but not all of them
i dont want to recreate everything in the 80's fashion...if you heard my recordings above, i reprogramed the drums in a more modern fashion
some vsti presets i heard from other sources are really, really nice....so i would not despise them if a had a chance to use them

I'm afraid not. Because I'm just a hobbyst, the "pay what you can/like/want" option via Paypal is the best one for "selling" my sounds ("donation") and the safest way for buyers ("donators") in case something went wrong (need of refund, no sounds received, my identity etc.). Maybe you could ask a friend of yours to buy it? It's a (very) small money income for me, but still important. Thanks for your intersest!
