for MAC world (High Sierra 10.13.x), the v10 is quite the best.

    Cubase 9.5 pro indeed!!!

Recently i upgraded to v.10 pro, it has really excellent features and it is bull s..t tho!
it has problem with some of plug-ins like all softube and wont work, if you try to use one of those specific plugins then cubase suddenly will disappear!
Bravo Steinberg, whil im you user since nuendo v.2 but i have to say that you are going to die slowly slowly :|
if you were a new developer then i was ok, but your 30th year anniversary was last week!!! it means 30 years of experiences :|
    Such a shame!

    hey Hooman.Leys
Add Soundtoys Microshift as an insert on your Control Room section and bypass it.This should solve the problem. Its on the steinberg german forum.Cubase 10 is super stable for me.

The only one true answer: NONE
No other DAW's are so buggy than Cubase (past and present).

  6. The problem with Cubase is that you're always waiting for the next release to fix the bugs the last release delivered. You never, ever get get a fixed version. You're just waiting in line to pay the upgrade tax. For ever. Until you move on.

I can't speak for desktop versions of Cubase (except that I have good experiences with v5) but Cubasis on iOS definitely has too many bugs that are officially confirmed but not fixed even a year after being confirmed by Steinberg.

Maybe they only fix bugs that have been reported by at least 50 users???

Was not impressed with lack of progress, and the look and feel of the C10 demo. Reverted back to C7.5 which is pretty stable.
Now with the halved prices for upgrades, I might get the C10 upgrade, activate it when C10.5 comes along and hope for the best.

By the way: those (like me) that experience slow responsiveness in Cubase, have you tried the latest V4 small USB dongle?
Would be great to hear if that one actually makes the program snappier.

Having said that, I actually prefer Studio One. More intuitive and faster to work with IMO!

    OSX 10.14.4
    Cubase 10 Pro (latest version).
    Macbook Retina 2015.
    UAD Apollo Twin (thunderbolt version).
    Buffersize 512
    Asio Guard: NORMAL.

I experience better performance of Cubase 10, than older versions (v7,v8,v9).
    With better performance i mean:
    - Feels snappier than previous versions
    - way less crashes
    - seems for me CPU resources are better handled in v10 than older versions.

Awhile ago, I did upgrade my e-lic usb dongle to the latest v4 cause i experienced alot of growing weird issues with my first gen. usb dongle
(error messages in Cubase, dongle not seen in Cubase) and this helped much.
Communication between Cubase and usb dongle v4 is also way faster than with the first gen. dongle version.
I would advise everybody that has a first gen. dongle to upgrade to v4.

Sidenote: I also use Studio One and this DAW feels incredible snappy (much more than Cubase v10) and also seems to handle cpu resources
in a far more economic way than Cubase v10 does.

9.5 is the most stable since 5. Still has annoying bugs though. The one where you cant add anymore plugins after using a given amount is really annoying. I think a large part of these bugs are caused by the auto backup feature.

Still waiting to upgrade to 10. Anyone know when the upgrade discount is happening?

    Windows 7? Cubase 5? Amazing.

Anyway I run 10.0. 0, 10, 20 with no issues yet. The program is often on for 15 hours, running on a 2013 MBPro on Mojave.
Isn't this more about not only WHICH version but also WHICH OS too?

in fairness the most stable version was probably V.1.0.0 running on an Atari 1040. It NEVER crashed.

@Hooman.Leys AFAIK that bug was fixed in the first patch, what version of 10 are you using? and have you patched it to v10.0.20

I've never understood the which version is the best/most stable, I've been using Cubase since forever, been my experience most issues all the issues I've had with it stems from Hardware set up on PC. if you start off with a stable base setup of hardware and OS seems to relate directly to Cubase performance . I've just now upgraded to10 and have not seen anything traumatic going on. 9.5 at the moment is dead stable and why I've left it installed just in case.
