So I just moved from a iMac to a laptop PC for my music production needs and I have a external harddrive with a bunch of music production software, samples, kontakt library's and instruments... I'm just wondering what I'll be able to transfer to another drive and what I'm gonna have to DL again. I have omnisphere library on external could I use it with my PC if i get the omnisphere .exe installer?

Kontakt libraries, Omnisphere library and all kinds of sample banks/libraries can be used on both Mac and Windows. Of course the software and plugins to connect to the libraries must be Windows compatible

You can use any Patches, Presets, Sampls and Sample Libraries as long as you install the Windows version of the same app or plugin.
But make sure to check the installtion paths for the plugins in Windows and manually adjust them if necessary!

Because unlike macOS, Windows Folder structure is really fucked up and devided into 32 and 64 Bit, so it has 2 default Locations for Programs and User Settings – one for 32 Bit and one in 64 bit files. So in the end, there are at least 4 default Locations where plugins can/will be installed: 2 for 32 Bit (one in the Programs x86 > VST Plugins, one in your user folder). The same goes for 64 Bit. My advise would be to create 2 dedicated VST Folders (one in Programs and one in Programs x86) to keep everything tidy. Then set up the plugin paths in your DAW and you should be good.

basically it is 4 paths for plugins:
    32 bit:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins
    C:\Program Files (x86)\steinberg\vstplugins

    64 bit:
    C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTPlugins
    C:\Program Files\VstPlugIns

I guess you gonna use 64 bit so just concentrate on that. Usually you get asked where to install the plugin and if you wanna install 32 bit (say no to that).
As a rule use C:\Program Files\VstPlugIns as the standard plugin folder or create a custom folder.

The standard folder for VST3 is:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

I have another question so I'm going to be using 32 bit more of fl and how I want it set up is have multiple folders in one folder having all soft synths, samplers, live instruments... and another for all my fx and have it set up like records, compressors, distortion... and I wanna be able to see it on the left hand side of fl studio I only downloaded one synth and it seems like a pain in the ass to go get a synth or fx... so if I could get some insite on the matter
