Come on dude, it's not even exhaust gas... Nobody said it's exhaust gas (except people that didn't do their researches). It's condensation because of the difference of temperature between the hot air coming from the motors and the -40°C cold air from the sky. One might further empty the mind of more preconceptions and consider that the most humble idea, with the least preconceptions, is that there is nothing beyond what is "nature". The word itself encompasses all of our guesses, but demands consideration all of what we KNOW we don't know, and that of which we are UNAWARE we do not know.
Yet we are human, emerging from nature but with our limited human concerns.
Nature is everything but is does not cater to human concerns.
For that we have striven to rise above nature with fair success, albeit with great risks to our survival, with our guesses at what is the better course for humanity & our mistakes, known and yet to be realized.
But nature itself has no concern for our survival. It has no intent whatever, "bad" or "good", and no capability for no "evil", nothing "sacred"...
These are human concerns, and appropriate for us to create ideals and goal in our sophisticated and complicated (with mistakes) ways, including the occasional conspiracy (intentionally complicit AND unintentional via "bad" shared goals, habits, biases, fears, mistaken ideals, unpragmatic principles, etc.endlessly.)

So, this too, of course, is brought to us via MY particular database of existing beliefs, and the point is to ENCOMPASS and CONSIDER and KEEP IN MIND as much as possible, and the limiting due to HOLDING ON TO preconceptions as @Gatekeeper432 points out is more the problem.
Understandable, and forgivable because defending our feelings about "what we know" is defending what our brain tells us will keep us alive. So we defend much without realizing and at times with great violence, sad but true.

So, I strive to keep all this in mind ... as i fight the urge to tell all of you what to think...
