The "mandatory" tone is usual in marketing, not always effective though.

 

I visited the site to find out why this is a plugin worthy of possible purchase. It apparently uses RTT technology. I thought maybe the FAQ will tell me what that is. After all an acronym can mean anything and surely would be a question frequently asked. But no, it was no where to be found. Is it Really Terrific Technology? Perhaps. And the bargain price? $19? Sometimes things that are so cheap suggest that they have little intrinsic worth. Now I'll be wondering about RTT all day.

 

You can find an answer to anything by looking in your pants.

 

This just means they might have some sort of new secret sauce and if you like the sound it might be a factor. Have we learned nothing from AA?

 

Reactive Transients Technology

Models how transient react to various valve (tube) gear. They used it ina product called Valve Skew. Spelled Valvesque.

 

So a saturation/soft clip algorithm? I've got plenty of those. Still not worth $19.
...and No Avenger, you had better be typing that message while showering. Otherwise you have no reason to be naked below the waist.

If you're going to recreate a piece of analogue gear, remain true to your goal. I have never in my life owned, nor seen a tape recorder with an "air" function. No tone controls either. So again we have what I described as a saturation plugin with some extra features which respond reactively to transients. I'm sure many of my old reel to reel machines did more than just respond to transients in a reactive or even a proactive manner.
