I can make you more than 10000000000000000000000000000............0000000000........00000000 sounds in a fraction of a second before your DAW (guessing it's Reaper) is loaded but is creating and mixing them called music?

Spectrasonics reprehensibly battens on people and takes full advantage of their simplicity in sound creation. I'm calling for all shoppers to go on a hunger strike and boycott its products. Just kidding...

Thats a great refeerence actually, thanks for that.

Actually just wanted a thread where folks could post\share what they love about and like to use within the software, Tips and tricks welcome!

I couldn't imagine waking up one day and not having this gem to be honest.

It is SO deep, i would venture to say that NO one knows everything about Omnisphere and lets face it .. knowledge is power.. so share the wealth folks!

One of my fav features that i rarely see used or mentioned is Groove Lock... If you havent seen this, or used it.

    Check this out..

Also works with any midi file, not just Stylus RMX:invision:

    Long live the KING

most of those are about the keyed version and poor installs by installees, i have had Omnisphere for 5 years now and have never ever had any of these issues....it is a wonderful synth..... it just keeps getting better!

I doubt most people here would just scratch the surface of this monster like Alchemy, Serum ect
You could spend a decade in its head space.

Omnisphere is an incredible piece of software that sounds amazing.. some of the latest additions make possibilities endless
The Granular addition was a big one for me. Like Alchemy (dont get me started on Apple) I will spend the rest of my production life exploring this synth.

PS: Hit quads contrarian antagonism is an indication that he's a preset scroller taking a big bucket of piss more than anything else.

but if you love the sound a synth makes that will inspire you.. so .. sometimes it is not about what others think about it

After its existence I can say more than 80% of the sounds used in all my productions/songs are made with Omnisphere, and I still making and discovering more new and inspiring sounds. Eric Persing really knows how to make sounds and tools for music and sound design production for more than 30 years!

Here is a video where I saw a patch of Grain from Reason 10 that I liked so much and wanted to have and play so I thought "why not to recreate it in Omnisphere?" so I did and here is the result:

    All the preset abusers, unite!

Seriously, Omnisphere is OK, far from the best synth ever.

If there was a version without all the multisampled synth crap, I would have gotten it. Now - waste of hard disk space.
A decent analogue modelling synth puts Omni's samples,VA oscillators and filters to shame.
Any wavetable synth laughs when sees what Omni offers as wavetable mangling. Repeat this for FM and granular.
Basically, stack mediocre implemented features, add tons of reverb and other effects, put some kind of arp/sequencer for 1 note riff creation = trance kids, rejoice...
There are some interesting foley samples; Spectrasonics' old sample library CD's content is way too dated compared to anything available for other big hybrid sampler+synth combos.
They release quality expansions as separate synths - Trillian, Keyscape etc (expecting string, brass, vocal, pitched percussion additions in this vein), while multisample import is locked for the user, so noone can release competitive soundbanks for it - isn't this unfair?
Big marketing, big price, lack of real substance.

One thing that I really like in it - it has microtuning options.
Plus or minus? - Many presets, actually too many, you may miss usable sounds, because of too many mediocre VA sounds, pads or whatever surround the creative preset.

For me these days its all about the analog emulations and specialist software and plugins.

Omnisphere has an ok sound and can do many things. But it’s not the best at doing those many things.

Problem with big plugins is that it can be very bloat and difficult to maintain and improve upon and all you end up seeing is more features being added but the quality doesn’t improve...

Smaller plugins and software and specialist tools are always better becuase if can be easily refreshed by the devs with better versions and they don’t bloat products with average ass features to sell this shit better...

There's no doubt it's great, possibly the best and most comprehensive vst there is. But...
I bought it and have regretted ever since. As mentioned, it's main selling point is why I uninstalled it... too much.

I spent more time clicking and browsing than getting the sound I wanted. I would find 30 amazing sounds that were of no use to the current project, so I would favourite them (never to find/use them again).

In hindsight, I should have stuck with just Omny and only that. But I didn't. So I prefer to load smaller specialist plugs for the task at hand, gives me a fresher perspective and not looking at that 80's GUI for 5hrs straight.

Still, it's a great vst and I might come back to it one day.
